if an actual UFO ever came anywhere near Earth I'm pretty sure some scientists would notice it by the snap of their fingers.
weather balloon?
The whole concept of UFOs as rounded metal disks is so old and overused that I no longer find any excitement or believability in a UFO sighting if it fits that description. :frown:
Theres shit out there, just none of it has decided to/has the capabilities to come to us.

I think the surest sign that there is life somewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us
The funny thing about this is that spacecraft actually do look like flying saucers. Or, rather, maybe flying saucers are just modeled after exaggerated versions of real life spacecraft.
This is a new spacecraft, the Orion Crew Module:

This is an old spacecraft, the Apollo Command Module:

The similarity in appearance is due to the fact that the flying saucer or 'teardrop' design is simply the best possible technology for spacecraft systems (excluding space planes). You just can't build one any better. So it's safe to at least hypothesize that, since the teardrop is the best design all of our science and technology has to offer, an intelligent space faring civilization whose home planet and natural environment are similar to ours would likely come up with the same design for the same reasons we came up with it. The laws of physics are the same everywhere you go.
However, I wouldn't put too much thought into videos like these. A civilization advanced enough to develop interstellar space travel would be intelligent enough to know that it's safer to observe a planet from orbit with very powerful telescopes and photography so that they remain relatively undetectable to anything that would be on the ground. You know, rather than just hovering above a densely populated city for no reason and then taking off like "shit they saw us"
The teardrop design is not a good shape for space travel - in fact, in space, shape doesn't matter at all, as there is no atmosphere, and nothing to drag on you.
The only reason it's a teardrop is to allow for re-entry, it's a very atmospheric shape when you're in the mood to go plummeting into the atmosphere at mach twenty. :v:

Congratulations. In your attempt to 'burn' humanity, you quoted a children's cartoon. And you didn't even do it right. It's "The surest sign that intelligent life exists is that none of it has tried to contact us."
It's finally coming to us!
Episode Three!
Aw, they just wanted to join in the celebrations of Carnival.
the video loads finally!
I'd like to think there's something out there, but I've never been able to take UFO sightings seriously. The whole saucer-shaped flashing thing was merely our semi-comical interpretation of what a UFO would look like, not what they actually are.
There is other "life"in the universe it CAN'T just be us I mean come on now? Although we don't know what "life" is really. We only know about ourselves and all these big scientists only think about how our planet's "life" works. We think we are the most "Intelligent" when we actually could be one of the most primitive existences.

I should think the people who like to imagine UFO's or who fake UFO videos would feel the same way and come up with something new. Yet they don't.
Not saying the UFO videos are real or anything. I just think I'm seeing a flaw in the logic that says "disc-shaped UFO'S are automatically fake because "disc-shaped" is overused."
This thread is giving me a serious case of dejavu.
The posts even seem to be in the same exact order, from the same exact users...
