What makes it so ludicrous that we are evolved from monkeys? Seriously I really don't fucking get why people can't accept this shit, that they somehow think we are some amazingly special special with some almighty place on this earth. Have a fucking look at great ape behaviour, no really, go and fucking do it Chimps using spears to hunt Chimps using twigs to fish for termites And dude, adaptation is evolution, the terms are pretty much synonymous.
not to mention we have seen evolution happen before
not to mention we have seen evolution happen before
You are THICK. :bandwagon: Also, it's ludicrous that we happened to evolve on a planet that has everything we fucking need.

I'm saying your trying to be with the "kool kidz" by saying "lol evolution. :downs:"
You are THICK. :bandwagon: Also, it's ludicrous that we happened to evolve on a planet that has everything we fucking need.
Earth is not perfect at all.
I'm saying your trying to be with the "kool kidz" by saying "lol evolution. :downs:"
hes just a troll can we stop this uselessness
I'm saying your trying to be with the "kool kidz" by saying "lol evolution. :downs:"
Never before have I seen such a case of blatant anti-intellectualism in a poster
You are THICK. :bandwagon: Also, it's ludicrous that we happened to evolve on a planet that has everything we fucking need.
We need those things because they are on this planet. We evolved to use it for our advantage.
I'm saying your trying to be with the "kool kidz" by saying "lol evolution. :downs:"
Didn't know they have internet in the Vatican
Didn't know they have internet in the Vatican
The Vatican supports theistic evolution last I read
The Vatican supports theistic evolution last I read
The fuck? The survival of the faithful?
How do people still deny evolution?
Uh, most people just deny that the earth is "millions of years old". They don't deny evolution, evolution is a process.
The fuck? The survival of the faithful?
I think he means more "God made/makes evolution happen, and planned for it to be like that etc, etc" [editline]28th November 2010[/editline]
Uh, most people just deny that the earth is "millions of years old". They don't deny evolution, evolution is a process.
Evolution and geology almost go hand in hand. If you deny the earths age but agree with evolution you have no idea what you're talking about. Sharks, for example have been living for 400,000,000 years. Other species of fish for longer than that.
Uh, most people just deny that the earth is "millions of years old". They don't deny evolution, evolution is a process.
not true more then half of christains dont believe in evolution. and thinking the earth is only 9000 years old is just as stupid
not true more then half of christains dont believe in evolution. and thinking the earth is only 9000 years old is just as stupid
I mean, the dinosaurs, right? Or how some stars light takes much much more than 9000 years to reach earth, so for us to look up in the sky and see them, that light is more than 9000 years old.
not true more then half of christians dont believe in evolution.
Actually, creationists in Europe are pretty much a rare sighting, despite the rather large number of christians around here... Creationism is pretty much an american phenomenon. [editline]29th November 2010[/editline] America, and third world contries. Which is rather sad.
Evolution is fucking awesome.

More reasonable than Creationism, but still unfounded. It's funny though, the one thing IDiots and Creationists hate more than Evolution is Theistic Evolution, they see it as a corruption and weakening of the faith.
they see it as a corruption and weakening of the faith.
Probably because they're still taking the Genesis book literally, especially the part where it said "this is the tree of knowledge, don't you EVEN FUCKING DARE touching it! Because I'm a loving God and everything, and always want the best for my children, EXCEPT IF THEY START TO USE THEIR BRAIN FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAN BLINDLY WORSHIPPING ME, IN THAT CASE YOU'LL FEEL MY BLOODY FUCKING WRATH."
You are THICK. :bandwagon: Also, it's ludicrous that we happened to evolve on a planet that has everything we fucking need.
First off, stop talking about our boners. We know they're thick, there's no need to compliment. Secondly, it's ludicrous to think we COULD evolve on a planet that DIDN'T have everything we needed. What the hell did you mean when you said that? Maybe you just wrote that sentence because you have no understanding of evolution? EDIT: I mean, if we were on a planet that didn't have everything we needed, we'd either die out or we'd manage to evolve enough so that we DID need the stuff that planet was putting out. That's how evolution works. You adapt, or you die. Do we need to go over the giraffe/tree evolutionary arms race with you? Because it doesn't seem like you learned that back in Middle School Science.

Theistic evolution, by it's nature, is a non-literalistic position. You can't think the stories are anything but metaphors if you believe things evolved, seeing as how evolution needs millions of years to work.
You are THICK. :bandwagon: Also, it's ludicrous that we happened to evolve on a planet that has everything we fucking need.
good god, are you trolling or are you seriously the most retarded person on FP

To a creationist saying we evolved from primates is like saying we from dogs, it just doesn't make sense since the physical factors are fairly different. Since they haven't accepted it, it sounds ludicrous, the thought that people you come from aren't actually... people. If you think about it from a non-partisan non-scientific perspective, it makes sense, but it is a bit ludicrous.
:bandwagon:
most overused emote right here
Australia always has the cool lizards, i don't want to imagine what it was like during the Jurassic period.
whoa adaption awesome
Also, it's ludicrous that we happened to evolve on a planet that has everything we fucking need.
Actually it's the other way around. So much life has evolved here, because it's one of the only places in the known universe where it's possible. Rule of the Universe #1, if something can happen, it will happen. If life can happen, it will happen. Do you see what Im talking about? [editline]29th November 2010[/editline]
Since they haven't accepted it, it sounds ludicrous, the thought that people you come from aren't actually... people. If you think about it from a non-partisan non-scientific perspective, it makes sense, but it is a bit ludicrous.
Evolution doesn't happen overnight. People don't come from monkeys, people come from people, just as for the last 30,000 years people have come from people. Though if you met a person from 30,000 years ago, you might see some discernible differences in appearance, just as you see some discernible difference between people of different races, that's all evolution is, is lots of small adaptations happening over time, and eventually taking the retrospect form of large adaptations..

Theistic evolution is basically slow creationism.
Theistic evolution doesn't have anything to do with Darwinian evolution. Theistic evolution is basically slow creationism.
No, that's Day-Age Creationism or the "Gap 'Theory'". Theistic Evolution is Darwinian Evolution with a "goddidit" tagged on e: On that note, there's multiple kinds of creationism. Day-age is the kind where they think the 6 day period is a metaphor which is actually thousands of years. I think that may be Old Earth as well. Young Earth Creationism is the utterly batshit and most present one, where the whole "created in 6 days 6005 years ago" thing is believed.
