Didn't go well in this Stephen King novel - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mist
Imagine if we discovered another universe before Half Life 3 released :suicide:
Imagine if we discovered another universe where Half Life 3 was released.
Imagine if we discovered another universe where Half Life 3 was released.
and it was shit
Didn't go well in this Stephen King novel - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mist
Probably won't go THAT far. Even if somehow they fucked up and tore a hole in reality, worst case scenario it'd probably just be a weenie hole into space that closes up after a few seconds.
I find this all hard to believe. Can you just turn off a black hole once you create it? Surely as soon as it's formed it absorbs everything around it and gets bigger.

Isn't April 1st also a few days away?
Isn't April 1st also a few days away?
This is par for the course for journalism on the LHC so I doubt this is a joke.
the date :tinfoil:
it's not a joke, they are upgrading the parts to produce higher energy level's because they believe that by reaching over 11 TeV could have the possibility to create black holes. plus the holes would be way to small to do any collateral damage if any at all.
Yeah the black hole part isn't the problem, it's the people running around shouting about parallel universes.
Oh good, I almost thought that HL3 was canceled since HL3 is just real life. On a serious note, I really hope they find a way to make mini-blackholes, that would give us a way to study them.
Yeah the black hole part isn't the problem, it's the people running around shouting about parallel universes.
yeah it sounds crazy, but don't knock it out just quite yet. i mean i wouldn't go around confirming that parallel universes existing just yet until there is definite data that supports it. To be quite honest i do hope that there will be data one day to confirm it but for now one could dream i suppose.

Everyone grab your crowbar and be ready to resist the US Marines
It's the Daily Express, it's about as reliable as the Onion.
so you're saying the onion isn't reliable? or is?
I think the possibility of creating a portal to another Universe is extremely unlikely. Though i do believe the idea of the multiverse theory, i just don't think we are that technologically advanced yet to even get a fucking atom into another universe. Or hell i might be wrong and we got vortigaunts popping out of nowhere.
sorry was this article written by L ron hubbard or something because it's 75% sci-fi BS. I don't think there has been any scientific conversation that the LHC will be opening parallel universes or something uneducated crud
A great example as to why scientific reporting cannot be done by people who have the cognition capabilities of a glazed ham
Wait, is this legit? Or is it just a joke article.
Wait, is this legit? Or is it just a joke article.
No it's not legit, what is expected to happen is for mini black holes to form and possibly bleed gravity into parallel dimensions according to some theories, this is nothing impressive because those dimensions are a sort of support structure for our universe, while it's possible those dimensions may have universes in them, they wouldn't exist in a way that we could interact with.
the date :tinfoil:
CERN confirmed to be plotting new LOST season reveal with JJ Abrams :tinfoil:?
Hawking radiation would cause a micro black hole to evaporate in a minuscule fraction of a second.
Yeah but quantum mechanics dictates that anything can happen at any time for any reason at all so we just can't know!
Yeah but quantum mechanics dictates that anything can happen at any time for any reason at all so we just can't know!
Postulates of quantum mechanics: 1. Anything can happen at any time for no reason. 2. Eat plenty of oatmeal. 3. Animals never had a war -- who's the real animals?
So wait, correct me if I'm wrong here but this could open up a black hole, destroying our planet in a tiny fraction of a second?
So wait, correct me if I'm wrong here but this could open up a black hole, destroying our planet in a tiny fraction of a second?
That or they open a portal to some eldritch dimension or one where the Nazis won World War II and start World War 2.0. There is really a lot of unknowns about doing something as dramatic as opening up portals to other dimensions which we know nothing about. But I'm betting that nothing will happen like it always does.
If cosmic rays are consistently more powerful than the LHC will ever be, and have been around for billions of years, then why would this scare anyone?
This is some Steins;Gate shit right here
Human is dead. Mismatch.
Where we're going, we won't need eyes to see.
