I had an argument about this with my parents which led them to pull facts out of their asses. Like there is actually 20 taxes in that one bill (the fuck)? And that doctors will now always deny care (and what the fuck). Bascially they knew fuck all about the bill an hate it because obama made it.
I had an argument about this with my parents which led them to pull facts out of their asses. Like there is actually 20 taxes in that one bill (the fuck)? And that doctors will now always deny care (and what the fuck). Bascially they knew fuck all about the bill an hate it because obama made it.
my parents still think it will mean there will be only 1 healthcare provider, making it a government monopoly and that it won't care for it's customers Total nonsense considering we will still have our private firm (Sharp) doing our healthcare :downs:
What if someone wants to skip health insurance, since they're young and healthy and the risk of needing expensive care is negligible, and pay zero for it instead (or buy low cost catastrophic insurance), using the money for something more beneficial to them? Their taxes went up to pay for other people who need care, while they receive virtually no benefit out of it.
They are risking their financial ruin, which is not in the interest of our country. Further, the taxes they pay earlier on will also be paid by the young and healthy when they themselves are old and brittle. You can't have your cake and eat it too. It's either slightly less expensive, but always paid, or far more expensive and only paid when 'necessary.'
Yup. Can't go wrong with the government virtually living your life for you. Not like they'd ever abuse their powers or anything, governments never do that. Personally I prefer freedom.
Fuck yeah, freedom to be doomed to everlasting misery and likely death due to being completely destitute! Awesome! Freedom means different things to different people. Apparently, you prefer the freedom to fail completely. I prefer freedom to take chances, and keep trying if I fail.
It doesn't have to. The market has mechanisms built in to account for environmental issues, protection, transport, etc
What? Like how much coal plants would pay attention to the amount of dust they spew into the atmosphere? Like companies care so, so much about the toxic waste they pour into bodies of water or the water table? Companies love to externalize costs, and will do so at every opportunity if not restricted.
The profits are regulated based on revenue from premiums, so they'll have more wasteful spending to increase premiums so that they can make a higher profit out of them. The money that gets wasted on this inefficiency could have gone somewhere productive instead.
So, wait, the free market will fix everything, but the free market won't fix insurance companies wasting money to maximize profits?
Doubt it. The healthy, should they decide to pay these higher premiums for no extra benefit to themselves, will still be subsidizing the guy who has an unhealthy lifestyle and a long history of causing car accidents, etc.
Always the selfish outlook. You do get benefit from paying other people's healthcare. We get a stronger economy, we get personal security in times of need. If you only focus on the shortest, most selfish outlooks, you're gonna have a bad time.
