Akgün group is one of the largest industrial zone developer and construction firm in the world. The company planned to build the largest industrial zone in Ethiopia. Akgün secured one million sq. meters (100 hectares) of land from the Oromia Regional State located 35 km from Addis Ababa. The total cost of the project is estimated to be 12 billion USD and it is projected to employ one million people. It will be the largest industrial complex in the world. The industry zone will have a customs zone, Lorry Park, gas stations, logistics zone and recycle center. The recycle center will collect and separate industrial wastes and recycle aluminum, iron, plastics, copper and other similar materials.
I love the industrial zone, really annoyed me when they switched to the ocean one.
How stable is Ethiopia compared to the parts of Africa you usually hear about?

Real stable, much more stable than their eastern neighbors.
They've been improving vastly since 1991, but the Ogaden region still needs some work.
They're still recovering from the communist regime (heck they never fully recovered from the Italian invasion before that)

Yup, we've been real sonofbitches down there. We practicly destroyed their intellectual elite and went on massmurdering innocent people.
I am legitimately impressed by this.
The logistics involved must be phenomenal.
I just hope those million people get a fair salary and don't end up working for few cents per hour like in the east.
Will they also be receiving a Green Hill Zone? :v:

you forgot to mention they have probably made more progress in renewable energy than any other western nation

You forgot to mention the ongoing border tension with Eritrea and the skirmishes that happen.
Not to mention the ongoing situation with Al-Shabab in Somalia and the general threat posed by Islamist terrorism, even though they've mostly opted to attack their wealthier neighbor Kenya.
Not to say they haven't been improving but there are still massive amounts of things that need to dealt with, like the endemic corruption that's plaguing the government and will likely see the vast majority of this industrial zone sold off to Chinese firms.

Scrap Brain Zone always struck me as the most dirty industrial level, just look at that background:
