Anyone ever read Kim Stanley Robinson's 'Mars' series? It's really good. And more than a little unsettling.
It's exaggerated for past accomplishments but you don't really hear about NASA in the news very often anymore for great achievements like you did in the 60s and 70s.
The achievements after the 60's and 70's are still important, its just they're not as eye-catching as landing on the moon. The achievements were still huge in the pursuit of knowledge and helped us to better understand the universe.
aka neapolitan ice cream
Isn't Neopolitan icecream just the patter that it's stored rather than the way it's prepared? Though freeze-dried icecream is pretty nifty. I just wish they'd do it to nicer brands, since whatever they're drying now tastes like butter.

Yea, NASA does some cool shit, but they aren't in their heyday anymore. We need new innovation, new people, and new management. Private companies would be a great way to provide this.
