We should just all steal from Walmart and make them go bankrupt.
I'd totally be up for it, but I'm scared I'll have that one Walmart that gives a shit.
wal mart aint keepin me down
It's offical, you've finally entered self-parody territory.
what do you mean people should shoplift thats illegal people cant do that
Probably meant it in the sense of: "Ask for work. If they don't give you work, ask for bread. If they do not give you work or bread, then take bread." - Emma Goldman
It's offical, you've finally entered self-parody territory.
i don't take myself too seriously when talking to sobotnik. :)
I've never actually worked at Wal-mart but my sister, niece, and nephew all worked at different stores around the same time and they were collectively miserable for almost the same reasons. It had a lot to do with the higher ups being massive cunts and the serious lack of pay that comes with the serious labor of unloading those fucking trucks all night. I mean, I still shop there and I expect to continue to shop there because there are like five Wal-marts within 20 minutes of my place. I kind of feel bad.
i don't take myself too seriously when talking to sobotnik. :)
Don't pretend you're better, or even equivalent. You're the one that shouldn't be taken seriously and seems every day more people come to this realization.

You're the one that shouldn't be taken seriously and seems every day more people come to this realization.
??? that was sorta rude, i'm just saying that i don't heavily argue about this stuff with sobotnik because we both have argued it and i'm p. sure we understand each others positions even though we don't agree. i'm willing to make fun of myself because that is funner than trying to be serious all the time.
How the fuck do they expect a father of two to support his family on 1000 dollars a month?
Why the fuck would they care? If he has two children, that's his problem, not Walmart's. They probably expect to him to just murder the children if they're consuming his precious wages.
I was accused of shoplifting once and the entirety of the Wal-Mart SS (Secret Shoppers), which consisted of one obese woman perpetually carting around an empty shopping cart, began tailing me throughout the store every time I went in there. I'd see her fat spilling out from around corners as she tried to catch me in the act, she'd glare at me from other isles and all around try to act like a fat Solid Snake with a shopping cart. So I accused her of stalking me and I haven't seen her since. Ah, Wal-Mart <3

'Tis
Stop saying that, you sound like a dick.
no i'm saying that you can't steal from a person that doesn't exist.
The law says otherwise.
no i'm saying that you can't steal from a person that doesn't exist. so yea i'm encouraging people to shoplift from wal mart.
So...like, a guy owns Walmart, Walmart is his property. His property happens to buy things to re-sell, making it the property of his property, so by extension whatever Walmart owns is also his property? That's how I see it, I expect that's how the law would see it, but obviously it's worded fucking stupidly.

For smaller businesses what I said makes sense I guess. As they tend to be outright owned by someone.
the law says a lot of things
And all of it has weight.
Good point actually, forgot bigger companies are structured like that. For smaller businesses what I said makes sense I guess. As they tend to be outright owned by someone.
i wouldn't endorse stealing from a small business since even though these people are part of the "land-owning" class, they are still relatively poor and theft against them can directly harm their health. wal mart? fuck them i'll take what i want.

You don't exactly steal from those shareholders and you dont necessaeily harm the company by stealing a single good, but then again if I go to your house and steal a fork out of your kitchen drawer that doesn't really harm you does it. But it doesn't justify taking property that's not owned by you. And a larger firm where it's suddenly okay to steal from it?
even though these people are part of the "land-owning" class
Are you for real?
Where do you draw the line between a firm that is small enough to not justify stealing from it. And a larger firm where it's suddenly okay to steal from it?
at the point where this firm becomes a public entity generally.
So not a single store name listed for kentucky? heh, sound like they need to expand over here. I heard from some old folks around here that we used to have a store called "when dixie" or something similar, used to be a big store around here until they closed down, alot of people liked that store because they contain almost everything, almost sound like Wal-Mart and kroger's combined from the sound of it.
What part of Kentucky are you from? The Winn Dixie in Hazard wasn't much.
The best thing any wal-mart employee (fuck yourself if you believe that associate crap) is to find another job as soon as possible. Anything... ask yourself, whether you are checking or night stocking, would flipping burgers really be a step down? I can promise that a company with a smaller number of employees will treat you better than wal-mart is even capable of.
This is not universally true. I've worked at a small business for years and it had a terrible turn-over rate because it was shit to its employees. I never quit simply out of fear of not finding another job (but eventually did when they cut my hours to being worthless). Then I got a job at Kohl's that has almost as many employees as Walmart and I've never been treated so kindly, both by employees and customers. I haven't as many hours there as the other job, but I'd rather be there simply because of how well I'm treated.
This thread has taught me something very valuable about Walmart. Shoplifting from there is hella easy.
It's like stealing from Redbox. Take the tape off the center of the disc with the barcode, slap it on a blank disc and voila. You get a game or a movie for 2$. Just be sure to get the movie with a prepaid visa gift card or something, and pay for said gift card in cash. Totally untraceable.
is kohl's unionized? when my brother went from shopko(non union) to fred meyer(union) he said the treatment, pay, and hours became significantly better.
Not as far as I know. I'm working seasonal too, usually the lowest of the low on the shit list of retail workers. Hell, the head administrator knew me by name the second day I was working there. Didn't expect that at all.

It's also weekends only, so you don't end up with a lot of cash to begin with. If I need more money though, well, there's plenty of room in my schedule for a week job. It's run by some good people, and the other employees are almost like a second family.
Stop saying that, you sound like a dick.
Just for that I'll say it even more. 'Tis my choice whether or not I want to say it, and by god I want to say it.
