Yes, I know that. My question is whether Canada has different stats than the US. Usually, the same trends apply to both. Are there actually more hate crimes directed at Islamic peoples than at Jews in Canada?
It's hard to get the specific stat (most charts just tally all hate crimes), but from what I can gather; yes, there is more hate crimes directed towards Islamic people. Especially in the past 4 years, where muslim directed hate crimes have more than doubled.
Stats can showed that muslim hate crime reports doubled in 2015 compared to 2012 while overall hate crime rates have lowered during that time. Even with a doubling, Jews remained the most discriminated against by an order of magnitude.
Is it? I know Jews still have more hate crime directed at them in the US.
Could you post a study? Not instigating anything, I'd just like to look at it.

It's like they couldn't decide if they wanted to use capitalization or not.
Could you post a study? Not instigating anything, I'd just like to look at it.
Here are the FBI hate crime stats for the US: https://ucr.fbi.gov/hate-crime/2015/topic-pages/victims_final "Of the 1,402 victims of anti-religious hate crimes: 52.1 percent were victims of crimes motivated by their offenders’ anti-Jewish bias. 21.9 percent were victims of anti-Islamic (Muslim) bias. 4.3 percent were victims of anti-Catholic bias. 4.1 percent were victims of bias against groups of individuals of varying religions (anti-multiple religions, group). 3.6 percent were victims of anti-Eastern Orthodox (Russian, Greek, Other) bias. 3.4 percent were victims of anti-Protestant bias. 1.3 percent were victims of anti-Other Christian bias."

I hate the use of the word "Islamophobia" to describe hatred/fear/discrimination of Muslims, because it allows people to call others Islamophobes for simply criticizing the religion. I hate Islam because it's a terrible religion, as well as the other Abrahamic faiths, but because hatred of Islam is tied to a word that also means hatred of Muslims, I'm prone to being called a bigot or a racist (and have been called so on multiple occasions). Unless there can be an agreement upon Islamophobia's definition, there should not be laws or anything related to legislature that uses misnomers as its basis.
-phobia words in generally have been overused into uselessness. Any disagreement with an idea is now considered a -phobia. - You want to stop illegal immigration from Mexico? Xenophobia - You want to not have gay marriage? Homophobia - You don't think Middle Eastern style Islam is compatible with Western culture? Islamophobia People are welcome to think that all these ideas are stupid and/or wrong, but they aren't phobias. They are just ideas that you think are wrong.
- You want to not have gay marriage? Homophobia
I'd love to see you come up with an argument that being against gay marriage has some logic or reasons to it and isn't thinly veiled homophobia. I'm also confused by what you mean "Middle Eastern style Islam".

There are absolutely people who use these words when they're not applicable, but they're the people you don't talk to because they're too ignorant, and I think you're exaggerating a fair bit by saying phobia words have been overused into uselessness.
