The cartels are already here. As mentioned by Richy most of their activities outside of drugs are related to being Coyotes... You'll only beat that by redoing immigration laws. The only way we can win is by regulating the source.
I am referring to a non-border state foothold by militia based cartels.
I remember in the local news when they killed or some other cartel a kid in a wheelchair... Seriously. I live in Mexico and I can tell you, those guys are mad as fuck and the police and part of the army is on their side. I live in Monterrey, a city very close to Laredo, Texas. The only thing I know about them is that they used to be part of the Army/Police and they used to be trained by other army/police forces from another countries such as the GIGN and the CIA. Those guys live like mercenaries. They have luxury houses, new and bullet-proof cars, helicopters, planes, trucks, weapons, pick-ups, jeeps. Many students, make deals with them. Have you ever heard about mass shootings and graduations or school parties in Mexico? Well, sometimes, is because inside all those people, there was one guy that make a wrong decision and due to that guy, everybody had to die. And yes, even with all the bad things they do, there are still people who think they are heroes. I know the Mexican Politics is full of shit, but the criminals outside aren't saints.

Not everyone put in mind, but a lot of them. Now it is the polar opposite. I suppose you can get away with anything when you win the hearts and minds of people.
Criminals will always get enough guns no matter the regulation, right? :v:
That'd be a shitty strategy for getting lots of guns really fast and cheaply. Buying legitimate weapons and smuggling them over the border is too much trouble, and far too expensive to do. They probably order their weapons from rogue arms dealers from Africa. Not a buncha guys up north who pay insane amounts for their guns. [editline]23rd April 2013[/editline]
there is serious restrictions on sudo but you can have mule buyers. give someone 20 bux to buy a box which can make a gram which is worth 60-100 street value. if you are a smart chemist you can also manufacture your own sudo/ephedrine in bulk. [editline]22nd April 2013[/editline] my point is that meth is really easy to make and something so fucking easy to make shouldn't be criminalized. it should be legalized and made obsolete by professionals who can provide better purity.
I think it's been proven that while most of the health problems with meth are due to impurities, it's still neurotoxic to humans. meaning it shouldn't be legal. There's a reason why Morphine, Amphetamines and meth are all regulated. Meth, you can actually get on prescription, but very rarely do they ever give out a prescription. Although my logic here is fairly broken as there are far worse things on the market via prescription though. Most anti-depressants have pretty bad side effects, including offing yourself, losing the ability to get a boner, losing the ability to have children, and the list goes on.

This isn't the US, the media won't affect much as cartels don't care about publicity. You get ten thousand people rebelling, they'll have ten thousand heads to roll down the highway. Yeah you could take them out with numbers, but they're better armed and organized, people aren't willing to die by the tens (or hundreds) of thousands to take out the cartels. Same thing with guerilla warfare, you take out a convoy without losses, they'll raze the nearby town. The whole thing relies on the fact that people don't want to defy them because if they do, they'll cause the death of many other innocents.
