Nope. 90% of communist voters are old people that are voting them from nostalgia. Seriously, they did a research.

And where might this study be? Even so, all I meant was that it's likely not as black and white as "all the old people voting in the crazies out of nostalgia".
Actually this really is not true. Sure, old people make up a major part of who votes for communists, but they are only rising so far. There's already a generation of young communists, extremist or not.
Yeah, I'd need a citation to believe that.
it was the same source where the EU banned fun and lord farage punched hitler in the mouth, it's a very famous one
Old people - scapegoat for your democracy since forever
attendance 37%? jesus christ that's awful
Yeah, the attendance is awful and people always bitch about the results, even if they don't vote. It's ridiculous.
Shame. The only reason they won, was because the so few people actually showed up to vote. Most that I talked with said - they have no idea whom to vote this year, so no one actually voted. So commies didn't actually gain any new voters at all. They just have disciplined ones.
Actually this really is not true. The reason why they got such a big percentage share this time was because attendance was abysmall. And since communist voters are incredibly disciplined their numbers didn't play as strong a role. The social democrats (orange) keep eating away at their numbers pretty seriously over time. And the last bigvotes (parliament) they had almost zilch voters under 30. Overall it's also regionals, so that means that support for red, oranges and independants is generally higher than during parliamentary votes. The good thing is, that just about no party with the exception of the DSSS is willing to directly cooperate with the commies. The results are still bloody abysmal.
Yeah, why did so few people vote?
a) regional votes - so not very important b) people don't see a stron impact from the regional bodies as opposed state level (parliament) and or local (city and village) c) people had no clue whom to vote for. Generally a lot of people I know said - I won't vote because I don't know who to vote for. Since there's a lot of negative view of all parties currently d) people actually don't really know what the regional body can and cannot do. Essentially the votes to look out for here are. a) parliament (builds the government and legislative powers) b) local - plays a huge role on the standard living in towns and villages, since they have quite a few executive powers and possible presidential if they expand the president's powers a bit from what they are now. Regional and Senate voting is often seen as a sort of incredibly unimportant. And during the last parliament votes, social democrats and commies had fairly miserable results. Another fairly good thing is, that the opposition in a lot of regions will be fairly strong, as long as a number of the smaller parties manage to band together with top09 and the ODS, which I think is quite possible.
The Commies aren't the winners. The OP didn't double-Czech the results!
How? Every czech person I've met has had a raging hateboner for anything Communist/Russian.
How? Every czech person I've met has had a raging hateboner for anything Communist/Russian.
What ? Your anecdotal experiences are not representative of a whole nation ? Colour me surprised!
I think Sensationalist Headlines has really improved my critical reading skills as every article I come across I have to figure out in what way the thread title is an extreme, twisted exaggeration of the actual news. Thanks Facepunch!
