go rent every new game they have today never return it blockbuster cant do shit because they don't exist ??? brand new games for like $7
Aww. I remember renting OOT from blockbuster. A few days later my parents bought it. So long blockbuster, I hardly knew ye.
gonna go rent some shit
This is what happens when companies don't get with the times. They already had the rights to all these movies, they could easily have started an internet rent service, but they let others take that market from them, and now they suffer the consequences.
100 dollars :smug:
With the prices they charge Id've thought they would be raking in the cash. Five bloody pound to rent a movie for one night.
Goodbye scratched disc-swapping :(
Haha I can see DRM being implemented in movies eventually so you have to pay to re-activate pre-owned ones - sad but very very likely. These businesses are dying because of this and streaming services.
And i can see a crack for it being produced in a matter of weeks rendering it completely useless.
bought a shit ton of dvds from a blockbuster next to campus before they closed. also bought the dvd backers to cover my wall. bought around 80 for 4 bucks.
The cause of this debt I hear you ask? Overdue movies!
It is kinda sad, as a kid I got a lot of memories going there and renting awesome games. It was a good part of my childhood, i always knew when one of my parents went to rent a movie I would end up getting candy or something out of it. Blockbuster got taken out because they didn't update their plan to match current standards. When they did try that it was way to late. Places like redbox, netflicks are the main thing right now. The only thing keeping them from completely taking over is the fact most new movies take several weeks to get there.
All the blockbusters near me are already closed down, though I did manage to get to one of them the night before closing and snag a big Boondock Saints poster.
They really can't blame anyone but themselves. They didn't innovate, netflix and redbox did. They relied on the business to stay the same.
Reminds me that at a certain point we were banned at 2 or 3 video rental shops cause we kept forgetting to bring them back :v:
Yet another nail in the coffin. [editline]22nd February 2011[/editline]
It is kinda sad, as a kid I got a lot of memories going there and renting awesome games. I remember going up there as a little one and choosing movies I'd seen dozens of times.
this is only happening in the US, in Canada none of the blockbusters are going out of business. (the one in my town is still open).
LETS GO ALL STORE LIQUIDATION maybe i can finally find the grave of the fireflies

thats my favorite animated film dontchaknow
this is really disappointing. I like rental shops far more than netflix, they're all around better in my opinion. I don't want to wait several days/weeks to get my films (or hope the ones I want are streamed online), I want to pop down to the shop down the street, pick it up for the impromptu movie night my friends and I decided to have, and enjoy my movie. netflix doesn't have a lot of the older, more obscure films that blockbusters had, and fucking redbox has a pitiful selection. i will miss you, blockbuster. biffls4lyf
Everyone, buy all the microwavable paper bowl popcorn your Blockbuster has!
The selling of physical copies of any digital content is a dying breed, and within 10 years will be rare, I think
God damn redbox taken over my town. Hollywood video is now a autozone, and now their taking blockbuster!
That's what happened to my Hollywood Video, too! :tinfoil:
And i can see a crack for it being produced in a matter of weeks rendering it completely useless.
Yeah, definitely. I wasn't taking their side or anything, just pointing out the direction that I think the industry is likely to head in next. If and when it does happen, it will affect the masses the most aka the ones who don't know how to obtain their entertainment media via other means and don't know what cracking is. The masses are where the money is at.
There's a blockbuster near me, I must loot it. Not literally of course...:ninja:
Looks like I won't have to pay that $110 late fee.
Good fucking riddance. Every blockbuster I went to would either have no selection for movies and games or have the wrong games in the cases. Fuck your late fees. Fuck those long ass lines.

Kinda sad to hear, I remember when I was younger, I would rent a game for the playstation on a friday to play the whole weekend. Good times. I still like going to blockbuster with friends if they are over, nothing like picking out a DVD plus getting some popcorn etc for a movie night. Ah well, I hope the UK stores stay open longer.
rent everything never pay fee
