Ready your wallets: Bankrupt Blockbuster puts itself up for sale

I loved Blockbuster a lot more then Netflix since I didn't have to pay a subscription fee.
With time it will close too.
then there won't be any video stores in my town... (that's the only video store we have..and netflix is shit.)
Honestly I am more sad because I cannot rent games since I cannot always afford to buy them :saddowns:
I'm going to miss Blockbuster. That place was my childhood. Went there all the time for PS2 games and the occasional movie for when a friend came over when I was little. I still use it occasionally even now. I'm gonna miss it :(
Blockbuster will always be nostalgic to me.
I still have some used N64 and super nintendo games with the blockbuster logo on it. :sigh:
Good, they tried to charge my £20 once for a day late film when it was meant to be 2 quid.
I will forever miss blockbuster, as blockbuster was my most fav and only place to rent video games in the past, I rent most N64, PS1, and PS2 games in that store, along with original Xbox. May it rest in peace.
My wallet is ready.
Is this only in the US? It seems pretty alive in the UK, £10 for four blu-rays is a pretty sweet deal compared to Sky Box Office or shitty Lovefilm.
LETS GO ALL STORE LIQUIDATION
Hence, the title "ready your wallets" ;D
this is only happening in the US, in Canada none of the blockbusters are going out of business. (the one in my town is still open).
Not going to take long, Yellowknife lost it's two remaining movie rental places, my parent's town's just closed down, and the Blockbuster in Dawson Creek went out of business over last summer.
It's already happening, and not just with Blockbuster.

Wait until Netflix expands to UK, your rental shops will die quite quickly.
I cannot wait for the liquidation of their stores. I know where 1 still exists! :buddy:
Its a real shame to see Blockbuster go like this. They've been around for just about forever, and now they're slipping away. I guess thats their own fault, not investing in newer technologies. With Netflix, Redbox, and other services available, I guess you would have to be blind to not see this happen.
I don't know how the creditors are going to revolutionize the business. Creditors normally have no business with movie distribution.
Damn, I always enjoy going to Blockbuster for film night.
So uh, is anyone considering going to Blockbuster and actually renting some shit, and planning to keep it till they run out of business?
I don't see myself doing this honestly, I doubt it would go so smoothly. But if they have a sale to blow the inventory, I'll be there in a heartbeat. I love buying physical copies of movies but I never really buy them anymore.
That's what happened to my Hollywood Video, too!
:tinfoil:
I miss Hollywood Video. Blockbuster charged outrageous prices so we generally didn't go there anyway.
