They still should have given him a job, someone like that is who you want on your side.
They still should have given him a job, someone like that is who you want on your side.
yeah i was pretty disappointed when i didn't see at the end of the story "and then valve hired me!"
-snip-
Seems a bit much, squad of armed SWAT members with automatic weapons pointed at his head because....He leaked a game? Did the same thing happen to the guy who leaked crysis 2? and bulletstorm? and killzone 3? and spore? and sims 3?
It may have been a good thing that SWAT team got him before he got on a plane to America. FBI is known for torture and other inhumane things when it comes to interrogating people for DRUG DEALING [editline]23rd February 2011[/editline] And Alaska's 90 year prison sentences for murder (:frog: Sarah Palin)
I like how when this happened to Valve, they went after the man responsible. But when this happened to EA, they blamed the gamers and whined.
I'm surprised that the police allowed him to have something to eat.
Valve should still give this guy a job. Newell is being a bit of a douche- I understand that its the work of his life, but at least contact him after the whole deal.
I'm surprised that the police allowed him to have something to eat.
They raided his house, held guns to his head... But it's fine for him to grab a bite to eat before he leaves.
I can finally see the truth. THATS why Valve keeps fuckin with my uncensored games, THATS why they chose to censor them at all, and THATS why we germans pay 1€ for 1$!
[img_thumb]http://sae.tweek.us/static/images/emoticons/frog-ssj3.gif[/img_thumb][/
For someone smart enough to hack into Valve, sharing the code of the most awaited game of that time and not expecting it to get spread he was incredibly stupid and naive.
did you read it he didnt distribute the code his friend did
that's what he wrote

Glad I don't live in Germany.
It's reassuring that he wasn't trying to be a douche about it, and he's gone to be a successful security engineer. I wonder what his Steam name is?
Breaking into his room with automatic rifles aimed at him pointblank range as if he’s some terrorist just for virtually stealing some unreleased game is a bit too far.
He grabbed a fucking knife to cut some fucking bread, he's a psycho alright.

Didn't you read the part where he went downstairs to cut some bread with a knife, smoke a cig, and have a cup of coffee while they all pointed guns at him? Clearly they needed all those guns, because this guy is a born bad-ass

Wouldn't you think that Valve would learn to meet deadlines after something like this?
I thoroughly enjoyed that article, good read.
Amazing read indeed.
I've always wondered about this. Now we need some news about the Crysis 2 robbery.
did you read it he didnt distribute the code his friend did
That's what I said, where did I say he distributed it?
They raided his house, held guns to his head... Now it makes sense why America get's the game before the rest of the world
The last line of the article tore me up
They raided his house, held guns to his head... But it's fine for him to grab a bite to eat before he leaves.
If I were in Axel's shoes, I would've eaten more. [editline]24th February, 2011[/editline] Also, I did enjoy the article.
Wow. Really not that bad of a guy it seems. Valve should have hired him afterwards to have him secure their servers from hackers n shit. And also, what would have happened if he'd gotten onto the plane? I don't get that quite yet.
