this is what they look like for people who don't shoot guns. Just a different box and insert as said before. Sadly enough people will panic buy just about anything is some media outlet tells them to.
So... What exactly are the differences in the actual product compared to something that isn't retarded? None right?
I really like the look of the box, but this is just fucking stupid.
All of this hysteria is hilarious.
Last time I checked any regular bullet kills things just fine. Thank you, Hornady Manufacturing, but I do not need your special designer bullets. My surplus Soviet ones work just fine.
I'm rather tempted to buy a box of this and a box of regular Hornady ammo and do a penetration test, side by side.
So... What exactly are the differences in the actual product compared to something that isn't retarded? None right?
Green plastic is another color that's it
I sort of want these for the novelty. Then I could show people them and say I got them during the outbreak as a joke but they will believe me and call me an idiot and I will be insulted for the rest of my life for it until I die quietly of suicide in a West Virginia nursing home at seventy nine because my son had died in a car accident on the way to visit me for my birthday.
So... What exactly are the differences in the actual product compared to something that isn't retarded? None right?
Nothing really, they're just re-branded ammo. There is nothing retarded about it, it is just a marketing scheme that works well. Some people buy it for the self-defense ammo while having a bit of fun with the name. These bullets have actually been out for a while.
I'm worried that there are actually people out there that think Hornady has designed a bullet that is optimal for killing zombies.
It said this was Detroit, so it's not too much of a surprise.
If it wasn't so buttfucking expensive, like anything else Hornady makes, I'd buy it for the novelty, but it's about a buck a shot for 9mm here, that's outrageous.
I actually have a few boxes of these in my gun cabinet. There's nothing special about them. The tip of the round is plastic and that's about the only real difference. They're cheaper to buy that Remington ($19.93(?) as opposed to $20 and some change, and the only reason I bought any is cause noone else had.
I'd get them if it was Federal making them and not Hornaday.
inb4 someone kills someone and blames it on zombie apocalypse
They're the same price as the normal A/V-Max bullets I think so it just depends if you want green shit in your target. [editline]7th June 2012[/editline]
What is this shit. The .45 ACP is only 185 grain? Pffft it is 230 grain or go home with .45 ACP. Erhm, I mean neat product!
Velocity velocity velocity!
Velocity velocity velocity!
Yeah I know, it wasn't meant to be taken seriously :P
Are these people morons? Why would you fill the hollow-point to the hollow-points? That completely defeats the purpose of the round. There's already enough of the problem of clothing fibers filling the point and stopping the mushroom effect, guess they went ahead and decided to fill it for people.
What the fuck.. well pretty smart of them to exploit the stupidity of others.
they've been selling these for ages, they're not just cashing in on the recent zombie scare.

It stops fiber from getting in the round and causing expansion failure. The polymer in the tip is soft so as to not impede uniform expansion. Look at federal hydrashoks, one of the most battle tested hollowpoints available. They have a metal post in the center that serves a similar purpose. It is proven tech and works extremely well.
The zombie thing is a fun gimmick, not a serious marketing angle. I'm almost disappointed that there are people who are literally thinking 'oh shit, zombies, better buy zombie-killin' ammo' because I don't see what else could cause a correlation between these recent events and increased sales.

I thought they just filled the hollow-point with green shit to sell it to morons as "zombie ammo".
they've been selling these for ages, they're not just cashing in on the recent zombie scare.
ohh... okay then. I won't need bullets when I'm in Madagascar.
ohh... okay then. I won't need bullets when I'm in Madagascar.
Good luck getting there before they close down everything.
company spokesman, Everett Deger, who said, while the bullets are real, they’re only meant to be used on targets and not on people (or zombies).
Target bullets eh?
Target bullets eh?
they're almost match grade. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in competition. If I want ammo for self defense, I'll be shooting surplus 9x18.
a perfect example of how stupid people are
They should buy dragon dildos,i heard they're effective against zombies.
Many retards wander this earth.
When there's no more room in Facebook, the idiots will walk the Earth.
