brb playing RapeLay
your avatar goes along well with your post
games aren't art but some games are porn
games aren't art but some games are porn
No, most games are art. They can be beautiful masterpieces. The only difference between video games and more traditional art forms is physical materials vs lines of code. To compare it to drawn art: Flash games are doodles. Low-end mods are graffiti. High-end mods are undiscovered talents. Major companies are professional artists. The mentioned game and all others like it, though, are porn.
Is there something wrong with extreme pornography?
If he knows nothing about videogames, he should back off. It's not smart to talk about a subject you know nothing about. His arguments are extremely flawed, as mentioned above. Wait, does RapeLay have voice acting?
Note: This isn't an official guardian article, before you guys go shitting all over it. It's a place where people can go and post articles - notice the 'Comment is Free'? Look at her user page - she heads up a woman's organisation, of course it's going to be biased.
I don't have anything against women at all, but I fucking hate feminists because they say things like this.
Do not read if easily angered by stupidity and ignorance.
:smithicide:
Guardian is normally not too bad on video game coverage. It really depends on the journo. [editline]11:02PM[/editline] The guardian is my personal favourite newspaper :smug:
feminists = woman's rights groups done way wrong.
feminists = woman's rights groups done way wrong.
Look up the definition of feminism. Please.
Feminists should get back to the kitchen. Where can I find this "Rapelay"? :q: :smug: :fappery:
Feminism just means they believe in women's rights. Not that they are ugly chicks that can't get layed.
So they claim that these games (which are Japanese, mind you) promote women as sex objects, yet they neglect to realize they stereotype men as sick sex-obsessed fucks?
So, in this game, you rape a 13 year old girl, isn't that technically child porn?
Age of consent in Japan is 13. I dunno about pornography laws, I know that it used to be legal, but I'm not sure it is anymore (I think porn might be 16/18 now)
"By the way, I played RapeLay (doing the 13-year-old was best)"
Creepy.
I'd normally be outraged and exasperated at the Guardian's retarded generalisation but I'm too perplexed by the existence of a game like RapeLay.
This correspondent seems quick to generalize, but I guess in the business scheme of things it's getting the Guardian a bunch of views from angry gamers. Just as planned.
Drawn CP is illegal in the UK. [editline]07:52PM[/editline] There's a fine line though. As in, if it's extremely realistic CGI CP then it's illegal, but if it's just a poorly drawn naked child drawn in the margin of a textbook with a biro pen, then it's not illegal.
I was talking about the US though.
Must....Play...Rapelay
Age of consent in Japan is 13. I dunno about pornography laws, I know that it used to be legal, but I'm not sure it is anymore (I think porn might be 16/18 now)
From what I understand a group of feminists in the UK complained about Rapelay and managed to somehow be intimidating enough to frighten enough Japanese politicians into passing a crapload of anti-porn laws despite the fact that they make a surprisingly large amount of money off of porn. Of course Japan never made sense when it came to censorship anyway. How the hell does drawing a skinny black line over someone's genitals makes it any less offensive?
So they claim that these games (which are Japanese, mind you) promote women as sex objects, yet they neglect to realize they stereotype men as sick sex-obsessed fucks?
That seems like a fair assessment of the men who play RapeLay to me
That seems like a fair assessment of the men who play RapeLay to me
True that.
"By the way, I played RapeLay (doing the 13-year-old was best)"
bet you 10 bux this kid is from facepunch
Because in Grand Theft Auto you were forced to kill the hookers.
To be honest when I think back and recall my many massacres in the Grand Theft Auto series the prostitutes really got off light. I don't know what she's complaining about.
lol at whoever changed the title
Does "killing" a prostituted woman in Grand Theft Auto just reconfirm to a gamer the "lesser value" of women in prostitution generally?
People don't usually discriminate between the people they kill in GTA4. A pedestrian is a pedestrian, whether they're in kneeboots or not.
People don't usually discriminate between the people they kill in GTA4. A pedestrian is a pedestrian, whether they're in kneeboots or not.
yeah, I just get in sabre gt and maul everyone, regardless of profession.
So the Guardians logic is if you play video games you must be a psychotic serial rapist that hates women?
