I'm always a bit amazed when wildlife stories come from the UK, because all of the oh, so scary issues you guys have are kinda everyday things for rural Americans. It kind of baffles me the trouble people in the UK seem to have with animals that are, at the worst, an annoyance to us. By "big cats" I have no idea what the article means but a roe deer is pretty tiny. A "big cat" could just be a bobcat which, honestly, isn't very scary and they can take down our deer if they absolutely have to do so. Actually, this article pretty much describes a bobcat attack, because they'll get close, wait for the deer to be chill, sprint in, and go straight for the throat.
Pretty much everywhere you go the phrase "big cat" refers to animals like lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars etc. Also, that's what most felines do when hunting, not just big cats.
To be fair it was probably a dog. Going straight for the throat is pretty standard when it comes to how animals take down their prey.
Jesus Christ, I was just illustrating the differences in wildlife and that you guys have nothing to be scared about. Calm down.
I'm always a bit amazed when Americans come into threads about the UK then sit there just going "HURR UK IS FUL OF FUKIN PUSIES HERE WE HAV 20 FEET OF SNOW AND BEARS JESUS"
Australia's wildlife terrifies us, so it's a trickle-down effect.
We're scared of killer cats, you're scared of free healthcare.
Now who's the pussy?
No, I'm not. Given a choice between those two, looks like I'm not afraid of anything, chief.
Pretty much everywhere you go the phrase "big cat" refers to animals like lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars etc. Also, that's what most felines do when hunting, not just big cats.

A bobcat is pretty small, has one chance and one chance only to end the fight with one shot and goes for the bloody assassin method.
I live in missouri and there was a cougar in my backyard once. I saw it and it didn't see me, but god damn it was scary. it was eating a dead turkey it caught. and i live in a fairly large(pop. is 7k or so)town.
since when are cougars bad?
Also I was nearly eaten by a cougar when I was in grade 7. On my way to the bus and ran as usual, my parents told me after I got back that a cougar was heading towards me.
EDIT: Cougars are fucking evil.
