THIS IS NOT HAPPENING It better not fucking spread to Finland.
You guys are screwed
I'm gonna take a wild guess here; perhaps this company is a subsidiary to the American corporation who owns AT&T and all the big telecom providers in the US. They've observed gain increase with the bw caps in America, and now they want to see if the model can be applied in Europe. Hopefully they'll crash and burn.
Stay the fuck out of Norway.
Fucking hell this better not start spreading in Eastern Europe too.
Well i guess thats that then. :suicide:
I hope the UN or the EU soon mans up and stops this bullshit. The UN has already stated that having a Internet connection is basically a human right, so they're going against that.
and australia is starting to get uncapped plans weird
I like how they put "50Mbit" on a like "OH EM GEE" effect. That's like really bad.
No. Just. Get. The. Fuck. OUT OF THE FUCKING WORLD.
and australia is starting to get uncapped plans weird
We are? Which providers?
I wish I could get a 50mbit connection and 200Gb of bandwidth. Telstra own all the lines around here and cap everybody to shitty speeds and barely any bandwidth, fuck Telstra.
We are? Which providers?
TPG is one of them. And obviously all of the Scandinavians here can't be greatful for anything they have, people around the world would kill for the speeds and bandwidth you guys get.
I'll be moving into a datacenter then. That's what they should do. Add housing to datacenters for people who want a decent business connection.
good job yousee, fucking kill yourself you piece of fucking shit, I'm gonna get the fuck out of this place if it spreads anymore.
I hope this spreads to the UK. I live with a 30GB FUP with no cap on the weekend. Thene again my speeds never go high enough for me to worry about hitting 200GB in a month so I guess it wouldn't matter.
My ISP sucks, but afaik there are no datacaps. But they do warn about "viruses" if a lot of bandwidth is used :3
God dammit, us Australians have been living with internet caps for ages, it isn't the end of the world. Besides, who even uses up to 200GB a month online legally? If you're streaming, maybe you shouldn't stream so much. I barely (estimating) go over 30GB in a month. Oh well. My household is switching over to an unlimited cap with our ISP, TPG. Good because my brother just wont stop downloading movies and games (I believe he's downloading Dragon Age at the moment).

You're next!

Considering the fact that both uploading and downloading is combined to be your total data usage just uploading a lot of pictures if you're a photographer or even doing business from home which requires a lot of uploading or downloading can breach the cap. There are a lot of people that don't just use the internet for checking emails, Facebook, and youtube believe it or not.
Hopefully these silly data caps won´t reach my country.
What I find amusing is that my family has a cap of around 40GB a month yet between us we use around 200-250GB a month and our current provider (Talk Talk) doesn't seem to notice or care.
All this means is if every major ISP were to follow, there would be a huge demand for un-capped ISPs. Some bright spark would think "Hmm, how about an un-capped ISP?" Suddenly the new ISP is popular and everything works again
How exactly are they intending to compete with other ISPs that offer the same speed for the same price without the cap? [editline]19th July 2011[/editline]
TPG is one of them. I'm not going to starve myself because people in Africa starve.
