I never said it kills everyone, now did I? But it DOES kill people, and yet is for some reason legal.
we should ban cars because you can die in them
and office chairs too, the hydraulic thing can shoot out and kill you.
It is very easy to abolish smoking entirely. What you do is that during production random cigarettes are shoved through sewage. The chance of you taking out a shit stained one and putting it in your mouth will put everybody right off it.
I think they should just be illegal, I guess this is one step closer to that
Any person who cares about the health of their lungs would love for smoking to be banned, but it has to be done very carefully and slowly to let people adapt. Plus people would just buy them from dealers then instead, lots of countries still grow tobacco so it wouldn't be too hard to smuggle.

That's because you're 17, Jeremy. Unless you have a heavy sensitivity to it, the effects of second hand smoke won't start hitting you until further down the line.
Are you fucking serious...? If you think most smokers are like that, you really need to learn some reality.

Hey, do you remember how prohibition of alcohol went down? Do you know how the current drug war is going down? If yes, and you're still suggesting we ban something, you're willfully stupid. If no, then you're just ignorant.
Banning of a substance because of "moral" reasons is not going to work, and why the fuck do you have the right to tell other people what they can do with their body. Second hand smoke in open air is not going to kill you.
I don't agree with smoking, but this is a stupid idea.
I don't care about smokers as long as they don't try to tell me I should smoke.
People are pissy when it comes to second hand smoking, you're walking in a city full of gases every fucking day but you have to whine about someone who's smoking a cigarette.
I totally agree with this ban! so there!
I still remember when an older gentleman shook my hand and congratulated me for not smoking. He had been smoking for quite a few years, and obviously regretted it. If banning displays helps someone like him quit, that's okay with me.
It'll help current smokers and people giving up in that they won't be reminded of cigarettes when the go into the shop. It'll potentially stop some youngsters starting purely because they won't know what to look for.
Believe me, once you're a smoker, signs aren't what cause you to buy a pack of smokes as the gas station.
I hope they eventually use peer pressure to stop people smoking and stuff like that. It's depressing to watch people kill themselves slowly.

You know, if you find it depressing, that's great. Good for you. But keep it to yourself. People can do whatever they want with their body.
Smoke all you want just please don't do it near me and we are all good.
Smoke all you want just please don't do it near me and we are all good.
You aren't a snowflake.
Yeah they are pulling this here in Finland too I believe
though i don't give a shit about shit like that, because you can't quite make cigarettes illegal, which would be the most efficient way to discourage smoking.. kinda
anyway this doesn't stop smokers from purchasing their smokes, but is good considering the future. if they remain under the counter, consumption will lower over time i'm pretty sure, which is good.
[sp]I'm a smoker too..[/sp]
but smoking is bad for you
The problem I see with Pipin's post is that the studies he cites completely fly in the face of the majority of other studies when it comes to second hand smoke. I don't think that smoking should be banned or anything, that's dumb, but many, many reputable scientists agree that it poses health risks for even a healthy adult.
This article cites studies from organizations such as the CDC and FDA, and you really can't argue that those organizations are purposely attempting to mislead people.
You can argue that a substance is inherently dangerous and still be completely supportive of its legal use.
I think they should just be illegal, I guess this is one step closer to that
No, fuck off. I hate cigarettes but other people should be allowed to smoke if they want.
let's make cocaine and heroin legal then. after all, people should be able to do what they want with their bodies, right?
........yes
I've got a new proposition. Whenever someone buys a tobacco product, the cashier by law must verbally tell warn them of the dangers of smoking tobacco. If the cashier: fails to do it; doesn't take it seriously; or make doesn't maintain eye contact; there should be serious repercussions. Smoking tobacco is not a joke.
every single time "yeah cool"
