except Wal-Mart is not a grocery store
Even if it has a grocery
It is rare for an actual grocery not to have baggers
I go to Walmart to buy groceries sometimes. What does that make it?
I go to Walmart to buy groceries sometimes. What does that make it?
It's still foremost a department store and functions accordingly
I just came back from wal-mart, and the cashier bagged my groceries.
i just came back from wal-mart since i work there
i know i posted about it already but jesus fuck i work in lawn and garden which also does the seasonal stuff, so i was doing back to school and the amount of parents that don't know what a god damn protractor is makes me want to end lives.
tbh though it really isn't that bad working there, i feel like most people that work there just like to whine since it really isn't difficult at all. $7.65 an hour to put stuff on shelves and drive a forklift, sounds good to me

and... you use rationalwiki as a source?
It's a well written website, but it does have obvious bias in it.
In Texas, H-E-B beats the pants off of Wal-Mart in terms of both their employee treatment and the customer experience. H-E-B's generic brands (Hill Country) are absurdly cheap and just as good as the name brand stuff.
And their produce is actually fresh, unlike the local Wal-Marts.
eat shit walmart
This sounds like what Target's trying to do in Canada.

It's the same thing here in Ontario now. This is where me and my girlfriend shop it's awesome.
This sounds like what Target's trying to do in Canada.
Not exactly. Winco started as a local place to shop and has since grown across the western us. Target has wanted to expand to Canada for quite some time, they were just waiting for a smaller retail chain to acquisition. They bought out a retail chain here called zeller's which was pretty much the same thing just Canadian. Imo I'm alright with target moving to Canada because corporations like these keep the competition up there thus suppressing inflation.
Fuck wal-mart. Pay me $7.50 to unload a goddamn semi-truck in a hot ass store for 8 hours, kiss my dick.
Garden center is where it's at :)
I water plants all day.

When you do the job of a trained monkey what do you honestly expect?
when I feel like being cheap or don't feel like spending $150 at Costco, I usually go to Winco because they usually have some pretty fine deals going on daily and even then they're considerably cheaper than anywhere else.
I will never fucking forget the anti-union propaganda video they showed me at Wal-mart orientation. It literally said "don't join a union, because then you have somebody speaking for you and you don't have a voice of your own :downs:" disgusting.
Unions can be fucking stupid. I sure loved being 16 and having to pay like 10%+ of my paycheck to bullshit "union dues". Yeah as a 16 year old working in a grocery store the union I was forced to be in sure did a lot for me!
and by asking customers to bag their own groceries
What, there's grocery stores that bag them for you? :v:

That's pretty weird.

(loblaws for you folks in ontario)
I'm scared to click agree or else Walmart will find out and fire me.
Actually fuck them I only work there for two and a half more weeks until I go back to school suck my cock Walmart.
I shop at Winco all the time. It's cheap, and I can get most any grocery item there that I would get anywhere else. Sometimes they have "Price Shockers" that are really good. Like half gallons of good orange juice for $1.50 once. They stayed in stock with those prices for like, 2 weeks.
I've also spoken to employees there, and they seem pretty happy. There's a lady that works in the one closest to me as a customer service rep, and she told me she has worked there 5 years and already has 150k in her retirement account.
Also, each register has 2 bagging lanes, so that they can ring up another customer while you're bagging without interrupting you, or inconveniencing the person behind you. They also give you a small discount if you bring your own bags.

one of the few good things about living in Florida
tbh there's a local gang of kids that are cycling thru jobs at walmart and are robbing the store blind of electronics and quitting.
Started shopping at WinCo a few months ago, longer drive but worth it

I still shopped at walmart anyway
2poor
There's one kinda near me, I'll have to check it out.
When us Scandinavians get a new supermarket it's just COOP disguising their hostile supermarket takeover with a new front
I never heard of this... probably because there is no store in louisville, kentucy being built.
When you do the job of a trained monkey what do you honestly expect?
I recently interviewed for a warehouse job that pays $14/hour + full benefits.
Why does the Walmart here pay $10.25 (minimum wage) for doing exact same job? Because they're scum
Fuck wal-mart. Pay me $7.50 to unload a goddamn semi-truck in a hot ass store for 8 hours, kiss my dick.
To people rating this dumb, this is extremely true, even my grocier gets low prices by fucking employees rather than doing strategies like most other stores. I have been working full time for months, but havent gotten any benefits, sick time, or vacation because they rather shove me in part time and make me wait a year and pay less. And if i say anything they will cut my hours back to part time.
I got permanently banned from every Wal-Mart store and charged with felony grand larceny a few months back. I can't say it wouldn't please me to watch this store get toppled by another. Fuckin' gay-ass white trash loss prevention team, busting you for stealing! Kill cops shoplift dont give a fuck about any punk ass little bitches #yolo

Shame that it isn't as cheap in my experience. Winn-Dixie is also a rather good place with decent deals from my times there.

It's sad that Wal-Mart has lived long enough to see it's self become the villain.

It feels really odd to me that there are places where people don't bag your groceries.
