I'm sorry but I just watched the video 5 times from 0:23 to 0:27 and I still don't see this "sudden movement". Care to explain where you see it? edit: Nope still dont see it. I must be blind or something.
I'm sorry but if you knew anything about raising an animal you'd know that it should take more than a twitch of an arm to get a well raised dog to attack that hard. I doubt the dog had personal beef with the kid, so I'll just say that the owners just suck.

I feel sorry for both. Dog and Kid.
That kid will probably be traumatized by dogs for the rest of his life, I know I would if I got attacked like that. (Also I love both cats and dogs)
Kid probably would have had some serious damage to his leg if the cat hadn't stopped it, he might have even had to have it amputated. Cat needs a medal.
Give that cat all the catnip he wants, motherfucker deserves it.
Friend didn't wanna see the video as he's squeamish about gore (I am too, to be fair) so I just had to describe it as "Imagine the boy is a sack of gold and the cat is Wario" because damn that flying shoulder bash looked hard. Part of me still feels a bit bad about a 8 month old puppy getting put down but I can understand it.
it's all an arg
[editline]14th May 2014[/editline] Seems like the boy flicked his arm at the dogs face ..., it's obviously not his fault, he was surprised.
You obviously know nothing about animal body language. The dog's posture and cadence was in attack mode the entire video, he was looking for something to kill.
curious
No. Head and ear posture is nothing like a curious dog, and there's plenty of time spent tracking the kid deliberately. the dog knew what the sound was and what he was going to do to the source of sound. This is angry aggression, fullstop. The dog knew the target was weaker than him and he was going to shred it to express who exactly was in charge of this particular piece of territory.
I was 'confronted' by a german shepherd when I was like seven years old and riding my bicycle, it wasn't nearly as violent as this, but I'm still terrified of dogs and canines in general.
Does the mom run away and leave the kid at the end cause she sees/hears the dog coming back?
I love how the cat immediately returns to see if the boy is alright.
In case it comes up again.
What the fuck, the dog was just like "oh hey imma take this home"
Shit on me if you want but cats rule over dogs. No need for discussion or counter arguments thank you very much.
every species has its share of assholes and heroes.
Can't help but feel pity for the dog since it was forced to this point.
Something sorta similar happened with my cats one time. A stray pit-bull was wandering the neighborhood and tried to attack one of my cats. While it was giving chase, another one of my cats started after the pit-bull and ended up on top of its head scratching away at it while the cat that was being chased climbed a tree. Same pit-bull showed up not long after and attacked one of my dogs, too, but was stopped by my other two dogs. Animals are tight, yo.

My cat hates strangers, and often wont go above giving them a bit of a sniff. She comes to my room (will knock, then if ignored start scratching at my door) and hangs out with me and sleeps in my extra chair. She will come down stairs if everyone is down there, and often tries to bring me upstairs as for some reason I apparently don't belong down there. She tries to play games, like hide and seek, and gets mad when you don't (she will pounce you). So, I would say my cat is rather fond of her family/owners. As I said, she also doesn't take well to strangers, and will avoid others when they visit. She also uses the water cooler (pulls the lever and fills the water retainer, or licks the midstream) when her water dish is empty or deemed 'not fresh'. Should have something done about that. Who knows how many other people's pets have been killed by it, and what potential children could be harmed by it.
my cat keeps getting it's butt bitten by raccoons and shit. but it lets everyone pick it up so whatever
Since we aren't allowed to post memes, just imagine that cat.
I really can't right now, I'm sure a mod wouldn't mind if you posted it right now to remind us
There's lots of dog attacks where someone has wittingly or unwittingly provked the dog to attack, this however, aint one of them.
this doesn't make me glad i own a cat, it makes me glad i own a dog that doesn't attack kids :v
This is just like the JFK assassination, the dog pulled that kid back and to the left, back and to the left.
Fuck yeah go cat!
Since we aren't allowed to post memes, just imagine that cat.
You sir, are a coward.
my cat keeps getting it's butt bitten by raccoons and shit. but it lets everyone pick it up so whatever
I had a cat sort of like that. He must've been part rag-doll, because he just flat out didn't give a fuck. My step-dad (who can be an asshole at times) would pick him up by the tail and the cat would just be like "Whatever, dude".
Is it just me or, when the cat appear, there's a sonic boom on the right hand side of the screen? :v:
My guess is it's dirt/dust kicked up by the mother dropping whatever she was holding to run towards her kid.
The way the dog reacted upon first seeing the kid is exactly the way dogs react when they see prey.
This is just like the JFK assassination, the dog pulled that kid back and to the left, back and to the left.
The Canine Intelligence Agency and the Dog Mafia tried to send the kid out of the White House in a pinewood box.
