Comcast is so fucked they were offering 2 gigs a month for a 1k install and then 300 a month here in Jacksonville. The city would be extremely stupid to not allow this.
WHAT THE FUCK WHY IS THAT LEGAL.
My favorite part is all the big wigs trying to disallow Google in their cities. Because 10/2 sporadic internet for $100/mo is such a better alternative, you lobbied cunts

Comcast also caps you at 250gb/month of data usage, or at least they did when I had them. On a 50mbit connection, you can blow thru that easily with HD streaming from YT/Netflix and etc. I went over once and they shut off my internet connection. Told me if I went over again, I'd lose all Comcast service for a year.
Canceled and went with FiOS immediately.
I'm using Comcast and I haven't had any issues with them. Granted I'm using that Xfinity program but again I haven't had any issues at all compared to Brighthouse which liked to fuck me late at night every day by throttling my connection.

I doubt they were throttling you. Cable internet bandwidth is shared between you and whoever else is connected to the same junction box. Late at night everyone's online, so it'll affect speeds.

Late at night as in past midnight as in everyone is asleep.

Call em and ask why they throttle you. I used to work for Comcast and I never heard of throttling. Unless you use lots of BW.

Comcast doesn't cap jacksonville.
Detroit is a shit hole. They have no reason to bring it there.
Should atleast be in Lansing or Ann Arbor

There are bigger areas that they will get more money for being in.
Why the FUCK won't they go northeast with this? I'm sick of Time Warner and Comcast. They're consistently the shittiest, but since they have all the politicians in their pocket up here they block it and any other good fiber optic service from coming up here. :frown:

It's not about disallowing in most cases, while I'm glad people are getting Gigabit, cities shouldn't have to go out of their way to conform and give Google a leg up against competition, Cities should not be adding 1 more overbearing company, but should instead be installing Municipal fiber.
And even if google decides to come to your city, the Roll out times are horrendously long, I'm in SLC and still waiting for it to come up above 13th east near my neighborhood. Hell, I'm convinced Comcast is going to roll out their 2 Gig plan, and Century link their Prism TV and Gig before Google gets here.
If Louisville gets fiber I'm moving.
