its like screaming IM DYING OH FFFFFUCK SHIT HNNNGGGGG gibe monei plox
I remember the amazing times I had in warcraft. It was so much fun when you had friends to play with, before cataclysm. Those were the days.
There goes WoW's chance to end on a high note.
I had some good times playing wow, a shame to see it sink so low.
Why are people talking about resubscribing? Isn't it free now? Edit: Oh, until Level 20.
I have an old account lying around from WoW. No. :v:
well what more can be said when you go from this to this
I like leveling in WoW more than the end-game. At least with leveling I am doing more than waiting in a queue while sitting in Stormwind and you actually get a chance to do some world PvP. But leveling is way better when you are with a friend though.
WoW 1-10: Spend it in ahhh at new shiny things 10-60: Level up, not too much fun, boring grind, 60-65: Oh cool burning crusade and flying 65-80: Boring 80-85: Grind Grind Grind baby 85: Do the same thing over and over hoping for a difference outcome (the loot you wanted), occasionally switch to new dungeon/raid/whatever to repeat it another 1000 times.
Sorry World of Warcraft, but it's time to move on to a new top MMORPG, which is going to be Guild Wars 2 most likely.
this is pretty sweet tbh, i was planning to level with my brother again but we can't really bother redoing the old content again. lol at the bandwagon btw
Just like Rift and ToR were supposed to be?
I think the problem with those two mmos is that they're still very similar to WoW, in terms of gameplay at least. And I wasn't trying to start a bandwagon or anything. It's the same reason I can't play any other MMO: they're all too similar. I kind of hate Guild Wars 2 for it. But I know a few of my friends that would absolutely take this offer, and most likely will. Hell, I might even do it just so I could have fun with them. But probably not.
I think the problem with those two mmos is that they're still very similar to WoW, in terms of gameplay at least.
I view WoW as kind of like a steam engine. It was highly innovative and efficient, with the core mechanics of many other inventions taking ideas from it, but its a little outdated now. Not to incur the wrath of the hornets nest that is the FP bandwagon, but I don't think we will be seeing a totally new change of mechanics for a long while. I still remain a little optimistic about the expansion, but we will have to wait and see. The mechanic of a neutral-until-faction-is-chosen race is an interesting idea. The theme is a bit childish but pandarens have been around for awhile in the RTS games.

It can get stale though, as some level brackets seem to go on a bit too long, especially when you're alone. I've found the best way to enjoy the grind to 85 is to RAF with a few of your friends, get a private Vent server (or any other private method of voice communication) and quest/dungeon/BG together. You'll get some good times and because of the XP bonus from RAF (which Blizzard is misleading about, it gives you 3x XP from all quests and around 1.5x XP from killing things (assumed average based on the RAF kill bonus seeming to be half the value of the original XP gain)) you won't ever really feel like you're grinding. You can easily get to 85 in less than a week with RAF.
Uh I don't understand the outrage over this? It's a pretty great marketing scheme. It lets me bring a friend up to 80 so I can play with him without waiting for 3 weeks or making another alt. WoW will be the "top MMORPG" until Blizzard pulls the servers.
Sorry WoW, I enjoyed my casual addiction, but I've moved on to brighter and better games. Having said that, I've no wish to continue playing a character whose name I was told means "Supertits" in Polish.

It took me weeks to level up because I spent so much time looking at everything and exploring everywhere. Now, I just see it as what it is, I wish I could go back to when I first started and enjoy it like I did back then.

I mean this is a game that has had gnomes since launch. Gnomes that can tank dragons.
Oh yes, I'll get my character to level 80 and unlock "The sword of 1000 truths"
Just like Rift and ToR were supposed to be?
You never played the original Guild Wars, did you?
I absolutely love leveling vanilla in wow (which I guess since cataclysm isn't really vanilla) because I've always thought 1-60 was quite fun
According to what I dug up on WoW's site is that this is only a limited time promotion. At least the lvl 80 bit and free cata. It DOES look like that the free race/faction and realm transfers are permanent though. Not a bad move if you ask me.
You never played the original Guild Wars, did you?
I did. It's not very good. [sp]Eagerly anticipating GW2 though[/sp] What has that got to do with his post?
Subscribed to WoW since a month after it's release, unsubscribe around Firelands, get absolutely nothing. Subscribe now for free Diablo 2 and Free Cata and fuck suck a d
Just like Rift and ToR were supposed to be?
Eh, I didn't hear much about rift at all, and as much as bioware and everyone on the corporate side hyped up TOR it seemed like there was a good deal of doubt amongst the online community before release that was later confirmed by the actual experience. It seems like there are actual people interested in Guild Wars 2. It looks like it does some interesting and different things and it's not a microtransaction game nor a subscription game. If it manages to not screw up, it could find itself a pretty nice place in the MMO market IMO. Of course I may be proven horribly wrong when it actually comes out, but who knows.
My friend sent me this an hour ago, decided to leap at it and thought "why the fuck not?". Dinged my 44 rouge to 80 since my DK main is 76 and it would be a waste. (I was half considering just making a new char and insta-dinging it to 80, but honestly it would be a risk to use it on a class you may not like.) You get a full set of greens at iLVL ~230, free artisan flying /w free epic mount, a pre-set spec (absolute shit pre specs. respec when you get the chance), and tons of flight paths. All your old shit gets mailed to you. Oh, and first aid maxed out too. Its not half bad, actually.
... Now introduce it for current customers. Do it Blizzard
The only thing that keeps me playing wow is the Roleplay.
