So how do i now legally get my fully automatic suppressed ak?
Yes, do you have tens of thousands of dollars and a clean legal record in order to get the ATF to approve you to even purchase one? Remember guys, the United States never Banned Automatics, they simply won't allow ones made after 1986 to be sold on the civilian market making the price for automatics on the U.S. market go up nearly ten fold [editline]06:07PM[/editline]
A bunch of sweaty red necks can't shoot up the capitol and take over the government.
Why not? I've seen poorer excuses of movements storm their capital and take over the government.
This just fixes a fundamentally flawed clause. Nothing more. A state by itself should not have more power than the combined entity of the states in the union. Am I making sense here?
Also consdiering these idiots make up so much of the Military I don't doubt someone in a Military Unit in the DC area would desert with a tank
He'd have to convince the 2 others in his tank crew to come with him. And where would he get the Jet Fuel required to operate an American MBT
Yeah, where people actually own guns, unlike Kyrgyzstan you had to belong to a ministry or be sitting in parliament to own a weapon. Also the teabaggers have showed up in enough numbers in order to storm the Capitol That has to be like 10 thousand people there at least and I bet 98% of them own guns Also consdiering these idiots make up so much of the Military I don't doubt someone in a Military Unit in the DC area would desert with a tank
Look at the trees rather than the forest. All I see are obese people and old people.
Guns to overthrow the government? I think you people are a bit paranoid. That would never happen for so many reasons. take a look, Obama can't even fucking fart without starting a mass protest.
Ultimately whether you agree that a militia could overthrow a government or not, the fact remains that the amendment was put in there to protect the citizens from the government. As such the government has zero right to ever remove the law. Valid or not, it doesn't matter, they flat out don't have the right to remove it. Though frankly I would be terrified of an American resistance. Those fat old rednecks have spent their lives shooting shit with scoped rifles. Now couple them with the fact that WAAYYY more Americans have received a higher education than any nation we've ever fought an insurgency in and the government will WISH for the days of simple IED's and suicide bombers. The sheer variety of ingenuity they would encounter on a day to day basis would be crippling.
i very much believe in militias i'm an anti-federalist though
Or :O Have you considered the possibility that I like customizing my own rifle, and then going out and shooting shit with it? And i consider that :gasp: fun?

Gun shops every two blocks make for a great friendly neighborhood.
I'm quite concerned to think that many of you are seriously concerned about the possibility of having to rebel against your government.
Look at the trees rather than the forest. All I see are obese people and old people.
...which make up 99% of GOPers.
The American population owning so many firearms is actually a deterrent for countries to invade. Didn't Japan say they did not want to invade the U.S in World War 2 because of all the armed citizens, along with other things such as logistics of course. I don't know, maybe that was a made-up fact. [editline]02:31AM[/editline] And if someone wasn't robbing my house, but actually coming in to kill, I wouldn't hesitate to shoot him. I'd probably shoot him even if he was just a robber, but I think most robbers would drop their stuff and gtfo. Everyone who says they wouldn't either has nothing to live for, or needs a family.
Ironically, the OP's name is gunfox, and it's a thread about guns. v:v:v
People have difficulty understanding the difference between a burglar and a murderer. There is quite a difference there. You think somebody's going to kill you for your flatscreen TV, and then probably spend the rest of their life being arsefucked in jail? You have a real serious problem if you honestly think every burglar is a cold-hearted killer in disguise who's going to kill you at first contact. And you're also flattering yourself if you think you're worth killing for your stuff. If they have any weapons on them, it's only to scare you. There's a reason why, when a group of criminals holds a shop at gun point, they don't just shoot everybody in the room first, and then take the money for themselves. They aren't 'lusting for blood'. So no, you don't need a gun to defend yourself, because they have no plans to actually hurt you. They just want your stuff, and until your start waving guns around, they are not going to kill you. Instead of loading your house with guns so you can murder any intruder, how about you instead invest in some decent home security? Like, locks that are decent, and alarm systems. That way you won't feel like such an idiot when your child finds your weapons stash and blows his own head off by accident. Or how about this? Get some self defence training. It's actually really rather easy to disarm an opponent and gain control of his weapon.
I don't like the thought of living in a world where I should worry if I'll have to wake up in the middle of the night just to get in a life-or-death gunfight. It's a little thing called a better security system. Nobody's gonna shoot you if you're alarm's going off waking everyone up a block away. [editline]04:11AM[/editline]
I'm fine with using guns for hunting, ranges, clay pigeons etc... Its just when it gets to the paranoia of everyone shooting anyone doing anything in 'self defence' that just gets a bit stupid.
This pretty much.

No one wants to be broken in to and no one actually wants to have to use a gun, so of course you make your house secure, you'd be an idiot not to. And if some lout is waving his Saturday night special in your face, are you seriously going to have balls to try and take it off him? That's asking for trouble.

[editline]04:16AM[/editline] When it comes to home security, I'd rather invest money into a better security system instead of accidentally taking a human life because somebody liked my T.V. [editline]04:26AM[/editline]
Why not? I've seen poorer excuses of movements storm their capital and take over the government.
Because not everybody in the U.S have the same ideals. If a bunch of people shoot up the Government, make an emergency broadcast message telling everybody what the new laws are, that's not really gonna fly with the people that didn't have a problem with our current government.

I don't get why you americans need your own guns, we don't need guns where I live to protect ourself, and if you guys do, then your government fails big time.

You are making a assumption that all burglars are non violent. Home invasions have lead to death many time.
It's a little thing called a better security system. If you can avoid this situation, you won't need to use your self-defense. ie: they wave their saturday night special? That's nice... you can wave your .44 right back at them and tell them to GTFO.
