• Another Civil Liberties Alert! Boston to use thermal cameras that can SEE IN YOUR HOUSE

I have a fish tank with a 6 tube, High Output t5 florescent fixture that is commonly used in grow-ops. It's literally a "horticulture" light. Not to mention my room is generally hot as it is, and the tank itself is a 4x2x2.5 foot box of water at a constant temperature of 81 degrees F. My room would be giving off a very suspicious red glow. Yep, definitely growing weed kick in my door. Uh, this is to the people saying it's grounds for a search. Cops would be at my door every week.
To understand the mindset of Boston, take that Adult Swim viral marketing fiasco from a few years back and extrapolate everywhere. Sadly, that's how we roll.
And this is why adult swim now sucks.
Fucking Kyllo v US. I still think this is a violation of the 4th amendment.
So wait will they see a random red spot in the house if somebody has a boner? [editline]11th April 2011[/editline] What if somebody is having sex with the door closed and the room heats up? What happens then?

Did anyone once think that not even the best thermal camera on the market could even get close as to penetrating a wall?
This x10000. There was an outrage in the UK a while ago (5? 10 years) because people thought that the police could see into peoples houses with the FLIR system that police forces here have on their helicopters. IIRC in the end they just showed a picture from the camera and it was impossible to see anything. Not to mention on top of thermal imaging cameras not being good enough to see through walls the type used for this sort of thing produce images like someone posted earlier. They just show the temp of the building.

Reminds me of the Simpsons when they use a thermal camera to look into their house, looking at the roasting chicken.
