Nancy Cartwright - voice of Bart Simpson says the public has earned a proper end to The Simpsons

The Simpsons hasn't turned bad in my opinion. It's just turned less good than it was at its peak. It's still stories above many of its competitors, namely American Dad and Family Guy.

I'd say American Dad is probably the best of those shows around right now. Simpsons is just fucking boring to watch.
Things I want on TV:
Kill simpsons
More futurama
We've gotten more futurama three times and each time was worse than the last.
Since when do proper ends have to be earned?
I remembered reading they wanted to make the last episode similar to the first episode so it's an endless cycle of The Simpsons

every episode I've watched from recent seasons has been unbearable. The Lady Gaga episode isn't funny in any way the entire episode and it's a morally questionable episode as well
Also a lot of the main characters have been ruined. Homer used to be a guy who wanted to be a good father/husband but wasn't the smartest, now he's just an asshole. Bart was meant to be mischievous but ultimately good natured, now he's a borderline sociopath. Lisa used to be an overly intelligent middle sibling at odds with her home environment, now she's basically become what Brian did in Family guy, a pseudo left-wing soapbox
Bob's burgers is basically taking over for the simpsons imo right now. The characters are all really well developed and the humour is still pretty fresh
A dude on Reddit wrote an ending that I thought was pretty neat.
The show begins with the family watching Itchy and Scratchy. They announce that the show is coming to an end and the entire family gasps in horror. They then announce that the last episode will be aired in a years time, and until then, a contest will be running; this contest will offer the winner the chance to write what will happen in the finale. The entire Simpson family applies.
Krusty is in charge of choosing the winner. He falls in love with one of the Simpson's idea and puts it in winners box. He makes a mistake though, he puts all five of their ideas in the box by accident. He goes on his show to announce the winner and pulls out five cards out of the box. Stumped, he reads all five names out, "Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie."
Flash forward a year later and Bart is in class describing his take on the Itchy and Scratchy finale to Milhouse, while showing us Itchy and Scratchy with Bart's voice-over. He finishes and the class is silent, Edna Krabappel is staring at him and says, "After-school detention." The scene then cuts to the power plant and Homer is describing his finale to Lenny and Carl. He finishes, a bell rings and he gets in a radiation suit. The scene cuts to a supermarket and Marge is describing her take to Helen Lovejoy, she finishes and strolls Maggie in the trolley to another aisle. Here, Maggie sees the unibrow baby and starts describing her take via waving and motioning. She finishes and the scene cuts to Lisa, she begins describing her take to Sherri and Terri. She finishes and picks up her saxophone to go to music practice. She walks in the music room sits down and then sees the time. She realises the show is going to be on in ten minutes. She plays the Itchy and Scratchy melody on her sax and bolts out. It cuts to Bart, he's writing on the black board: "I will not talk in class ever again" he hears a bell, realises the time and runs out. Cut to Homer holding some plutonium at a conveyor belt when a bell rings at the plant and he too realises the time and runs off, dropping some plutonium. Cut to the supermarket and we see Marge and Maggie checking out and running through the exit doors. Cut to a birds eye view of their home and we see everyone rushing to take a seat in the couch. They look at each other, they smile, the Itchy and Scratchy music plays, and it cuts to credits.

American Dad has really went downhill, I can't even stomach episodes from the past two seasons.
The characters have just changed so much, I forget the term. A parody of themselves?
Flanderization?

So this is the face of the Simpsons' killer

I don't think I've heard voice actors that sound as bored and tired as the Simpsons'.
I just hope it's better than the Futurama ending. I don't know what it was but the whole last season of Futurama was just ehh~
Might have just been my high expectations, feel free to disagree
Too late, the Simpsons have already gone too far in mediocrity to end with dignity. Now their only hope is to leave the rotting husk for good and prevent any more damage.
I think you're thinking of Sponge bob the Simpsons is nowhere near mediocrity yet but it's defintley not as good as it used to be.

The Simpsons is still smart. It's not as subtle and clever as it used to be, but it's still smart.
And Spongebob might make a comeback since apparently the creator's back on board

watch the Lady Gaga episode of the simpsons. Literally the whole episode is just a force-fed ego trip for her, making her seem like the greatest person in showbusiness. There are basically no jokes, the whole episode is just 'doesn't she dress weird - she's a nice person though'
The simpsons started it's decline around season 10, it's been a long fall but it's there now. The guest appearances are pointless, the characters are shells of their former selves, the majority of the good voice actors are gone now. They did a Family Guy crossover, that if anything is a sign of the end times
No, the Amdy Dick guest spot was the sign of the end times.

basically what new simpsons feels like

the two-pronged attack of a dismal lack of stimulus and the knowledge that the universe will be cold and lifeless infinitely longer than it was fertile
Major spoiler really major:
[sp]Marge and Homer are seperating. This shows in its final years.[/sp]
The simpsons was good for the first few seasons but they then lacked story progression, nothing changed\happened to them that stuck which made the first few seasons great.
