She shouldn't have given them what they wanted.
Exactly. You acknowledge that she made a mistake. We can say that she deserves support, but we don't have to praise her every action.
Exactly. You acknowledge that she made a mistake. We can say that she deserves support, but we don't have to praise her every action.

she left knowing she shouldn't have given them what they wanted.
Context is important. Don't twist my words.
I had a feeling people would be doing this after seeing the news of the WBC picketing.
Textbook definition of sociopaths.
It is not a matter of "you'd only say that since you haven't endured that abuse." Many celebrities have managed fine without immortalizing these douchebags as they likely have some form of a pre-regulatory plan in place when it comes to posting live posts, and she should look into that instead of giving them fame.
I agree. She was more prone to irrational action because of her naivety.
Hammer their fingers tyvm
i really want to see the dickheads shrinking into the woodwork who usually say "wow its just an internet troll you can turn off the computer" coming in here
It's really sad how many people actually have this point of view, and most of them probably haven't even been in a position where they've been attacked/harassed by a bunch of people (especially about something as sensitive as dead family/friends).
How can you be fucking fucked up enough to do such a thing. People like these make me sick to the pit of my stomach, I'm disgraced to even call them human beings. Bunch of sick fucks.
she left knowing she shouldn't have given them what they wanted.
You're saying she learned of her mistake. This still shows that you acknowledge that she made a mistake.
You're saying she learned of her mistake. This still shows that you acknowledge that she made a mistake.
That sentence says she knew what she had done and learned from the experience. Anything else is a fragment of your imagination. Thank you for your feedback, goodbye.
Thinking about this has made me realize just how stupid the "Turn off the internet if you don't want to be bullied" argument is. This is just so wrong, I mean what could someone even hope to gain from treating people like this? The fact that people like me could accept that Zelda must change something and to just accept that people like this will exist and we should do nothing about it is actually pretty sickening, and is an opinion only held by the vulnerable and stupid, me included.
You're saying she learned of her mistake. This still shows that you acknowledge that she made a mistake.
Oh my god, she made a fucking mistake, big deal. She just lost someone very close to her and I don't know about you, but its hard to think clearly when you are dealing with such emotional drama, on top of these shitheads coming after you for no reason. Yes, she made a mistake, but its a mistake any of us could have made given the circumstances. Besides, mistake or not, that does NOT excuse what these shitheads have done to her.
People say they don't deserve death, but their words and actions can cause death? Do you kind of catch my drift? She is most likely in a seriously distressed state as it is and these people want to push her over the edge? Yep, slap on the wrist.
Well she did the right thing just deleting twitter and not responding.
why is everyone a dick the world is dicks dicks
Oh my god, she made a fucking mistake, big deal. I agree that the shitheads are not excused because of this.
I hope they start an investigation to catch them. Fucking sociopaths
Poor soul.
She has my deepest sympathies, but they should not die for pulling a typically-sought attention-driven stunt.
No, they should die actually. Dickheads in general should all die. The world would honestly be a pretty fantastic place without their presence. Seriously, tolerance of these people is what allows them to exist in the first place.
Bullying someone because her dad just died. Wow, these guys must be riots at parties.
thats if their nice enough to get invited the parties, fucking assholes.
If I were her I would do the same thing, at least until it all blows over
No, they should die actually. Dickheads in general should all die.
I'd consider you a dickhead for saying such. I wouldn't kill you though. However, I'd love to slay your high horse.
I'd consider you a dickhead for saying such. I wouldn't kill you though. However, I'd love to slay your high horse.
How wonderfully shitty of you.

This is one of those moment where I almost wish there were laws on the internet. Because there are just some fucking lines you do not ever cross. These types of people should be chemically castrated so they never reproduce children. They should burn in an unknown circle of Dante's Inferno for all eternity. These people are just beyond evil.

I'm curious about that photo they sent her. Can anyone link it? Not tagged of course. I wonder if they photoshopped it or something.
Even (most of) 4chan aren't being this shitty about the situation. I can only imagine what kind of edgy teenage dicks are cracking jokes about it. [editline]13th August 2014[/editline] I mean fucking christ, I get trying to push the envelope and making off-color jokes about this kinda shit, but sending offensive images of a guy who just died to his fucking kid? That is some fucked up, sadistic shit right there.
Honestly, how someone can actively find joy in verbally abusing the daughter of a man who brought nothing but joy to the world sickens me.
it ought to be common practice for close ones of celebrities to go off all social media following the death or serious accident of said celebrity. There's only a few ways to get past the "trolls" a) only allow direct messages or posts from people on thier vetted friend list b) vetting que c) move off. Those trolls generally don't do it to genuinely hurt someone. They do it for the attention that's directed at them. For the emotional kick they get.
Thinking about this has made me realize just how stupid the "Turn off the internet if you don't want to be bullied" argument is. This isn't about vulnerability, this is about how easy it is for people to do it. Just take book reviews on amazon. Very few people who wrote negative, and often very attacking, reviews over there would have not done so, if they didn't have an easy platform for it. Actually mailing something is much harder. The same goes for harass like this. Until the harass reaches her private sphere I actually don't see it nearly s badly as some people here. Because yes, at the end of the day you can just leave twitter for a time. It's completely different if and when it gets private - phone calls, emails, physical mail, people on the street. Those are more direct and it's much harder to escape from these. It's kinda similar - have someone harassing you on twitter - the police won't actually do shit. Have someone harassing you on the phone, actually finding your new number if you change them - they'll start to get interested.
