You know, a lot of other predatory species have females hunting because the males don't stick around after sowing their seed.
Yeah I know, but it is really interesting to see female hunters become more prevalent in North America is all.
Narrower hips for men allow for better kicks.
Uh yeah we have narrower hips but are kicks are most definitely inferior to that of a woman. They are way more streamlined (heh), flexible, and have less chance of pulling the groin muscles.
YES! Fucking finally! I only hope that the female MMA Fighter is a huge feminist and the Male MMA fighter is a sexist dude. ONLY then shall we have the fight of the millenium!
Have you guys even looked at the fighters? I haven't seen a weigh-in but it could really be anybodys' match. Velasquez says she is already used to sparring with men.
Looking at them I'd say at most she could take about 3 punches from him before going down.
Aren't men more densely built than women?
That's bullshit, your muscle mass all depends on YOU and how you work them, it doesn't matter on gender. Bones density is also a constant between genders, but bone SIZE isn't. [editline]17th December 2013[/editline]
Looking at them I'd say at most she could take about 3 punches from him before going down.
Watch a few mma fights and come back with that same opinion i'd be blown away
Amazonian Brazil woman. Poor guy.
i dunno man, i've had some pretty great dreams that involved amazonian Brazilian women
May the best person win.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1892314-shooto-brazil-promoting-first-male-vs-female-fight-in-mma-history Pretty sure no good can come of this
I don't know man! I know some chicks who can kick serious ass. A girl from my old barracks, Chrystina, does MMA tournaments, and kicks serious ass. She actually became an MMA instructor while she was still in the military. She's, like, 5'2", but I have no doubt that she could beat the shit out of pretty much any full grown man she wanted to. I'm 6'6" and 215lbs, and there is no way I'd pick a fight with her. Granted, I'm totally not a fighter at all! As long as they stick to weight classes, I see no reason why men and women shouldn't be able to compete in MMA, especially considering that MMA is more about technique than raw power. [editline]/[/editline] I am just editing this to highlight the shame I am feeling for having said "kicks serious ass" twice in a row. I hold myself to higher standards than that, and cannot, in good conscience, pretend like this didn't happen. Pray for me.
she will win the the power of BUNDA
Different gender fighting has been around for ages. You guys seen Ultimate Surrender?
what if he gets a boner
Women aren't built the same as men. Narrower hips for men allow for better kicks. Men on average have denser bones, bigger lungs and hearts and on athletes 10% faster reaction speed. Men just have more power in general. It would only be fair if the man and the woman were in different weight classes. I don't think its fair. Look up Fallon Fox, a man to woman transgender mma fighter who went on destroying women in a cage women without telling anyone she is transgender. Even those fights weren't fair and Fallon as been on hormone therapy for a long long time.
haha yeh dude women are weak puny creatures who need our protection *tips fedora*

There are also men who can kick serious ass. But general consensus seems to be that men have a higher limit on ass-kickery than women. I don't agree with this as I don't have an opinion on it but eh
Except most colleges these days have a majority of women and that kind of shows that they're generally a little bit smarter than dudes lol
uhhh we're in america and if you throw enough money at it pretty much any university will take you
there's a lot less fedora spaghetti going on in this thread than I expected. I've seen MMA sparing matches between male and female fighters, and it usually always ends up with the chick grappling for submission holds and the guy avoiding to hit her. basically this guy is either going to knock her out and win against a girl, or get choked out and lose against a girl. he loses either way.
What if the guy gets knocked out and then splits in two and then the two copies of him have to fight the girl and they keep splitting and then there is 100 tiny hims and then she gots mobbed by all of them.
What if the guy gets knocked out and then splits in two and then the two copies of him have to fight the girl and they keep splitting and then there is 100 tiny hims and then she gots mobbed by all of them.
Stop doing acid.
uhhh we're in america and if you throw enough money at it pretty much any university will take you
There's also the fact that most boys are medicated much earlier than girls because girls and boys present different symptoms. Add onto this that most teachers are told to encourage women more than boys and you shouldn't be surprised that most boys grow up to not go to college or even drop out.
She doesn't seem to have that much arm muscle mass as I thought she would, she might be using a mainly kick based style though.
yeah i think with weight classes the differences between men and women will be irrelevant to the sport. i'm looking forward to this, not gonna lie i wanna see the woman win i think it'd be a great victory for women in combat sports. although most people that follow combat sports AREN'T like this there is still a huge amount of people that think women fighters and women boxing and stuff like that is a joke or a sexy thing. maybe this will change a few minds
Except most colleges these days have a majority of women and that kind of shows that they're generally a little bit smarter than dudes lol
Because women are pushed towards college more so then guys, especially since it's only been in recent years they've got the chance to go for it.

I wouldn't pass it up if I got the chance.
Except most colleges these days have a majority of women and that kind of shows that they're generally a little bit smarter than dudes lol
yeah that's because girls are more likely to be accepted because it's NOT based on credentials same reason asians and blacks are more likely to be accepted
Lmao this is an awful idea. The guy loses either way, and the fight is probably going to end up being a lopsided slugfest. Men and women are built differently, and hormones levels are a big game changer among other things. I'm a D1 athlete, and in my sport we train with the girls on our team as well, all the do the same work out ect. There is no way in hell a female can compete with a normal male unless she is on extreme amounts of PEDs, and even then they come into issues with bone structure and all that shit. Different sport but for example in shot put a good throw for men is around 55-60ft. For women it's about 45-50ft. Not a big difference right? The thing is the ball weighs twice as much for the men. tldr: Bad idea, not going to end well.
I think it would be a fair fight if they were both armed with guns.
Lmao this is an awful idea. The guy loses either way

Pretty sure no good can come of this

There's no glory to be had for him, best case scenario he wins the intergender bout in the most expected victory ever and there's always the chance of losing to her.
You see, this is casual sexism at play. Automatic and baseless assumption of inferiority/fragility. There's no shame in being beaten by a skilled female fighter. Likewise if she's a competent fighter she'll have no issue with being beaten by another fighter. I highly doubt she's won every fight she's every been in, I'm pretty sure being a professional MMA fighter and all may make her physically qualified to lose a round. I'm curious to see how this plays out. This kind of stuff should be happening on principle, it's just strange that it happened first in MMA of all things.
I'd rather see two skilled fighters. Really? A fighter with a 0-1 professional record and another with no record at all. If this fight turns out to be shit, there's not gonna be another Male vs. Female in a long time. Anyway, i'm very excited.
That's bullshit, your muscle mass all depends on YOU and how you work them, it doesn't matter on gender. [editline]17th December 2013[/editline] Watch a few mma fights and come back with that same opinion i'd be blown away
That's pure bullshit. Men on average have more muscle mass per kilo of live weight. Women have a larger fat percentage of their body mass than men, and men on average are able to bulk further than women. That said, women are able to get to a better physical condition faster than men. But men are able to go further in the end.
I say the men put forward their best champion and so do the women each year, and then we fight it out. Not with bottom wing fighters.
