Youtube has Taken Down Team Four Star's Youtube Channel

Youtube should start ignoring copyright claims until sufficient evidence can be provided to show the 'offending' videos are actually in violation of copyright. It's become moronic.

He'll build a wall around Youtube and get Prank channels to pay for it!
Not to mention DBZ Abridged fits perfectly into Fair Use, it's obvious transformative work and I don't think they get money from it besides donations.
I really want to see what the claims are that shut them down and who did it.
Not only that, but if you ever watch the episode breakdowns there is a LOT of work put into each video in terms of new and original animations and whatnot being added.
I bet I could just search for the videos from people who have reuploaded them and find them no problem too.

Yup, reuploads are still up everywhere
Not even a warning, they just up and terminated the entire channel?
That's beyond fucked.
Here's the thing; with the way the system works, sure, you can get Copyright Strikes and get warnings. The first strike will severely strip down your account's capabilities, though, and until it's appealed it's like shooting your kneecaps if you're a Youtuber monetizing videos and/or your videos extend beyond 15 minutes. Combine this with an automated appeal system that can be unusable or flatout string you along for excess periods of time, and the fact that anyone, anywhere, at any time can copyright claim one of your videos even if they don't own them, not to mention take the money from the video for themselves, you have a severe problem.
And if you get three copyright strikes at once with none of them appealed in time? Boom goes the dynamite, your account is basically erased from Youtube along with all of the videos. What can easily be assumed here is that some third party, either copyright claim trolls or companies claiming they have the rights to things they actually don't, claimed and striked three videos fast enough to prevent any appeals before TFS even had the time to react, near-immediately shutting down the channel altogether.. just because Youtube can't be assed to actually implement a locked system until the appeals are clarified or shot down.
YT is a big, fat mess.

better

there wasn't much wrong with it until the corporations took over
Not even a warning, they just up and terminated the entire channel?

A few months ago they had like ten episodes outright removed from their channel and they had to make an emergency announcement that they were putting them back up.
Seems like it's copyright trolls attacking TFS over and over.
So much fucking abuse recently in the past few months it's fucking ridiculous.

meh
Isn't it like the 5th time they've been taken down? It's always a frustrating situation when that happens but if there's one channel that will always bounce back from this it's team 4 star.
No biggie, we just have to collect the 7 Dragonballs and wish their channel back to life!
...or we wish for Youtube to finally respect Fair Use for every member of their site...

Is this another case of "I dislike it so I don't care that others who might enjoy it now can't." ?
Is this another case of "I dislike it so I don't care that others who might enjoy it now can't." ?
I think its more of, "I really don't care about this at all but want everyone to know".
They still haven't been able to keep their Attack on Titan Abridged up anywhere, as well.
It was taken down from Youtube twice and they were even forced to remove it from their own website, which doesn't exactly happen often.
For some reason TFS constantly gets shit on when it comes to copyright claims.

Corporate plutocrats are well known for thier lax feelings toward intellectual property.
So I guess either there really is a 'locked' system and Youtube doesn't tell you about it, or something else, because they're already back and intact. Hope it was due to enough fan backlash.
Why haven't they taken down that creature SoFloAntonio yet?
I wonder what would happen if Youtube takedowns were just disabled for a while. Probably total anarchy, but also, I feel it would reduce the general static so that people like SoFlo COULD be taken down without as much confusion.
Lord knows nobody breaking the fucking rules actually gets hit these days, so what would the difference be? :V

It's very unlikely that Youtube actually delete the data for "terminated" accounts unless they are purging the shit out of it for legal reasons. Deleting data is risky in some systems as there may be some dependencies on that data that either get blown away with it or become orphans and basically useless. Just toggling the account into a disabled state is usually good enough until they can work out what to do with the data for realsies.
Basically don't worry about the content for a lot of these accounts that vanish for a bit, it's unlikely it's actually gone and is just in a state that keeps it as hidden as possible until they either contest the termination or let it get eaten.

If nothing changes probably very soon. Someone's just going to give up and stop giving a fuck about YT.

Tons probably have already tbh
IHE TRIED to use vimeo and dailymotion, but it didn't work out. He wanted to just give up on YT
Yeah let's take down these guys for doing literally nothing wrong but those shitty prank channels and reaction channels that have WAY more subscribers and WAY more viewers, etc. are still up and running despite clearly breaking the rules and guidelines.
Sure youtube way to go #MakeYouTubeGreatAgain
Pranks? What?
Team Four Star is the group that did that 'extra nonsense but still actually follows the plot' fandub of the entire DBZ series
