Hmm Drill now for short term gas prices, or work on sustainable energy for an amazing future...

Or do both?
That's due to your tit high Fuel Taxes, In the United States it's USD $0.50/gal, where as in Germany it's $6.28/Gal, and in the United Kingdom it's $3.49/Gal.
Meanwhile in Mother Russia the Petro Tax is only $0.12/Gal
You make it sound like it's a bad thing, high gas taxes.
You make it sound like it's a bad thing, high gas taxes.
It is a bad thing. Too high taxes on anything is bad.

-I really hate paying $2.85 for a gallon of gas. If we drill more of our own oil, that's less oil we buy from other countries.
You do realize that American oil would probably cost way more than anything OPEC could cook up, right?
You do realize that American oil would probably cost way more than anything OPEC could cook up, right?
Why?
The only people who oppose the bill are idiots or illegals who don't want to get caught. People aren't getting searched based on the color of their skin, or even if they can speak English. If they get pulled over for, say, speeding, and while going through the usual routine they find out that the person's illegal, then off they go. There's going to be people crying "THEY'RE SEARCHING PEOPLE BASED ON THEIR SKIN ALL THEY'VE ARRESTED IS MEXICANS BAWW" well no fucking shit, Arizona's kind've border-border with Mexico, there's going to be more illegal Mexicans than Italians. Everytime I hear some dumb bitch crying about the police going to start profiling based on skin color I want to slit their throat open
If you were a Latino man, and you tried to sue a police officer for wasting your time, pulling you over on your way to work or possibly getting you fired because he had to see your papers (and you though that that was offensive enough), now you can't win the case because it would be technically legal for them to do this.
Now, I'm not saying that all police officers are racist pigs and hate minorities, but what is going to stop the ones that are? This kind of law is just encouraging racism, in my opinion. I agree that something has to be done about illegal aliens and the like, but this is way to rash, and way to drastic for this issue.
Why?
Why is everything made in China? And all the tech support in India?
In this economy people are doing jobs everywhere they don't want to do just to get by... We're talking big time 80k+ A year people taking jobs at McDonalds and shit... 10% are Unemployed right now.. American Citizens. The vast majority of 12 Million illegals are working Low wage and low skill jobs, Yes, but don't you think LEGAL CITIZENS should get first priority?
I don't support illegal immigration either, but you're seemingly blaming illegal immigrants for unemployment. Illegals are taking the jobs that other American's don't want because they view themselves as higher(the same thing is going on in the U.K. with immigration, from what I've heard).
There are tons of employment opportunities in the U.S., just none that citizens want. Construction workers expecting to still get 30 dollars an hour in a Recession is what's leading to unemployment, not illegals.
Why is everything made in China? And all the tech support in India?
OPEC is a cartel that artificially raises prices on oil though.
If you could live anywhere on Earth based solely on the people who already live there, the legal system it has, and the stability of its economy, what would it be?
Too many to choose from, but I want to leave America, if only for the experience. Canada's looking good to me.
The only way to efficiently reduce illegal immigrants is to target people who are Hispanic unfortunately. The majority, actually, almost all of the immigrants that are illegal are from Mexico. I really hate to say it, but this is really one of the only ways to expel them. I don't agree with it but I can't think of a better way.
Apologies, Humanabyss said that.
Did I ever say I didn't want them to get green cards and live legally? No, don't put words in my mouth. I want immigration reform more than I want them to keep coming here, so that it would be easier for them to get real jobs or real pay. There's a lot of better options than saying "Kick them out" or "let them stay illegally". Currently, bills like the arizona bill will do nothing but harm everyone involved.

Yeah just like most gang members are black people so we have to target all black people.
How about instead of kicking them out constantly we try to prevent them in the first place.

In other words, immigrants do the jobs americans deem themselves to dignified to do. Thus, not a cause of unemployment. So why get rid of them? "They're a cause of crime!" Well.. they really aren't. Recently, they looked at crime statistics in Arizona, and crime is the lowest it's been since the 60's. So, not a cause of crime... Why else do we get rid of them? Cause people are racist/xenophobic.

You implied that by saying that getting rid of the illegal immigrants it would crash the economy. Guess what immigration reform would do? It would get rid of the illegal immigrants and replace them with legal immigrants.
Who's the real criminal: the illegal immigrant, or the person who hires them?
You implied that by saying that getting rid of the illegal immigrants it would crash the economy. Guess what immigration reform would do? It would get rid of the illegal immigrants and replace them with legal immigrants.
Because illegal immigration would stop, and there would be no more illegal immigrants. There's a huuuge fucking difference between kicking them out and letting the economy crash, or immigration reform where they stay here and their jobs are eventually worked out.

I mean a legitimate source, with peer-reviewed figures that actually back it up. What you have there is a letter from two biased Senators, and even they admit they have little more than a few bits of anecdotal evidence on their side.

Both ways would get rid of the slave wage laborers and have the same economic effect.

The thing is, it is happening, we aren't the whole cause of it, but it is happening.
I do disagree with "experts" running around scaring everyone shitless with their end of the world crap. Their figures all rely on "Well by 2050, the ice will have melted enough to make a difference" but by that time, oil won't be economically viable.
I am sure in 40 years, we will have the technology to handle this. With the total of all processing power that of just a few modern day computers, we put Neil Fucking Armstrong on the moon.
Slaves in the south lived much better lives than their old ones in Africa.
Now you're being silly. You don't really believe that, do you?
Both ways would get rid of the slave wage laborers and have the same economic effect.
Uh... No. Kicking out illegals right now =/= having those illegals become legal immigrants. Those jobs would then vanish, and there would be no one to replace them, because americans aren't about to do them. If those illegals became legal, they'd likely keep their jobs at a higher wage and be able to work just fine, without economy crash, just a minor hit which would eventually be passed onto the consumer.

This is how I feel about Illegal Immigration.
They're illegal. That's pretty much it.
Drilling though... not so much.

Uh, it's true. A house slave was generally accepted as part of the family. They got free food and free room and board. Hell, even a farm slave got free living spaces in exchange for their work, instead of the climate of constant starvation and war in Africa.

You live in a beautiful world where slaves weren't whipped, killed, or just in general, exploited in a brutal fashion.
You just lost most, if not all of your credibility.

Bullshit Americans wouldn't do them. Americans want the jobs that are done by illegal immigrants, just for fair pay. If all the illegal immigrants turned legal and had to be paid fairly then it would be no different economically than kicking them all out.

Why the scare quotes? Do you have evidence they're not experts? Or do you think baselessly implying that experts are not experts will strengthen your position? Isn't that unethical?
I'm a little concerned as to your thought process here. Reminds me of "fuckin magnets"

I know they are. Did I ever say they weren't? Unlike you, I acknowledge slaves and immigrants are being exploited. I want that changed. Jesus you can't fucking read.

No, they fucking don't. Again, you're BLAMING unemployment stats on illegals, which they aren't fucking responsible for.
