well a lot of you would think i'm a monster for this but I don't see the harm in putting cameras in classrooms, which would allow that hypothetical teacher who can only raise her hands up and yell for help to get the child off her without harming it, without risk of lawsuit(camera as proof) I mean it's not like someone's gonna be watching the recordings unless an incident happens prompting them to look into the tapes
What do you have to do to piss off a child that badly in class? Not give him a gold sticker?
Children can be screwed up sometimes.
You do realize that these children are being sent to municipal courts instead of juvenile courts where they would have more protections, are imposing fines on parents ranging anywhere from $60-500 plus court fees per offense (which some children won't care about, especially considering that it isn't their money), are trying children (as low as four if you read the actual report) who literally don't have the mental capacity to discern between a person delivering a punishment and the punishment itself (which will likely lead to mistrust of the entire legal system or distaste for authoritative figures down the road), and are issuing these misdemeanors for profanity; correct? How the fuck is this a good thing?
I can also see it leading to the children in court not taking the system seriously if/when a sane judge gave a very low punishment.
Ive gone to two of those ISD's and I live in the area we're most of the ISD's are. The ISD's i saw listed are the shitty ISD's in my opinion. Most of these tickets though are usually applying to high school/Middle school students.
What do you have to do to piss off a child that badly in class? Not give him a gold sticker?
I've seen children hit teachers regardless of where I have lived. And yeah, shit gets fucked up down there. She teaches in a ghetto area.
I just find it ludicrous that they're ticketing minors. There's no way that's legal. And acting out in class isn't against the law. Whatever shit a kid does, it should be the parents' responsibility to take care of it. If the rest of the school districts around Travis/Williamson County start doing this, I am going to shout out in class that I believe that the nation in which I live should be overthrown.
I've seen children hit teachers regardless of where I have lived. And yeah, shit gets fucked up down there. She teaches in a ghetto area.
Makes more sense now.
Fuck profanity
Getting a ticket for profanity is stupid. I should be able to say what I want.
Don't come to Queensland then, it's a $100 fine here...
pardon me, I'm off to curse, fight, and be truant in Texas
Hey, I went to Katy ISD for 13 years of my life. I never got ticketed by any school police, but they did once almost catch my friend and I on top of one of the schools haha
The fact that America has them and the Netherlands doesn't says volumes about both countries
because schools from 10 school districts in Texas represent the whole of American students
isn't that fucking illegal...
school police
Oh, America, you crack me up. Police in schools, jesus christ. [editline]30th January 2011[/editline]
Don't come to Queensland then, it's a $100 fine here...
Of course, us Australians don't have freedom of speech (well, Victoria does, but otherwise no), so it doesn't really matter.

Damnit, Texas. Stop getting stupider.
Damnit, Texas. Stop getting stupider.
Oh you.
Oh you.
That's the correct English spelling.
That's the correct English spelling.
Except it's not a word.
Except it's not a word.
stu·pid (stpd, sty-) adj. stu·pid·er, stu·pid·est 1. Slow to learn or understand; obtuse. 2. Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes. 3. Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake. 4. Dazed, stunned, or stupefied. 5. Pointless; worthless: a stupid job.

I've always been under the impression that it wasn't really a word.
I came in here expecting the Onion
this is a great way to cause domestic violence.
