How to get slim fast: jump into a tank of liquid nitrogen
;43797779']Beg your pardon? Just 50 grams of brown fat can consume 300 kilocalories a day. The more you get it, the more intense your heat production becomes. You don't need to freeze yourself to death, you're just exaggerating. I only need a hoodie, a t-shirt and some shortened jeans in negative temperatures since I already produce that much heat to keep myself warm regardless. But it doesn't mean it's foolproof. I carry a pair of gloves and keep my hoodie's sleeves rolled up so I can put them down in the offchance that I do feel cold after all. The point is that this is great proof for controlled exposure vs. isolation against the environment. Putting on an extra coat to protect yourself from the cold works, but there's a more natural and I claim more effective method to solving the issue. Just fucking power through it, your body will adapt to it. I am living proof of it, hell, I've fallen into a frozen canal, submerged completely then ran back home drenched wet for a kilometer while the jeans were literally freezing solid on me. Took about 15 minutes for me to feel completely normal after I changed clothes and ate something warm. Didn't have amputations, no hypothermia, no nothing. Just trembled a lot and my lips were slightly blue That's how powerful brown fat is.
The thing about brown fat is that adult human beings have a nearly negligible amount of brown fat (babies are filled with it since their hypothalamic response to start shivering isn't fully functional in effect). Unless you genetically engineer the overproduction of brown fat, this will not be a viable option. And ironically, the fatter you are, the less brown fat you have. Also, mouse models show that brown fat + cold can lead to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atheroma which is not the best thing. Just like every other bullshit diet, brown fat only seem like an easy weight loss method to those who don't realize that regular, established times for thought out foods each day plus everyday exercise is the ultimate method for health. All I am saying here is that people can harden up instead of seeking the easy and effortless way out. It's kind of the same as refusing to take antibiotics for a regular ass stomach bacteria epidemic. By putting some faith in your body to power through it, you'll grow less dependant on appliances. I'm not saying they should never be used, but since brown fat exists, why not make use of it? I see people wearing puffer jackets and double wool socks in -5 Celsius for crying out loud. People who have lived in Finland their entire life complain that +5 Celsius is too cold. I understand individual differences but when I know that they can do something about it but refuse to inconvience themselves in the slightest for it is what I can't accept. Now that I know how I have managed to do it, I can tell others that it is possible for anyone, that it's not some kind of genetical mutation or something that I have.
How to get slim fast: jump into a tank of liquid nitrogen
weight loss will be further accelerated by the fact that the frostbite will probably burn your flesh off.
I always assumed it was heat that made you lose more weight. Merge.
You body will expend energy maintaining homeostasis whichever end of the spectrum you fall at. I was always under the impression that being cold was the best heat based way to lose weight because the act of shivering increases your metabolic activity to increase heat generation to warm yourself up. I've read that the act of shivering can potentially increase metabolic activity by up to 8 times but I somehow doubt that number.
I don't fucking care. I'd rather be warm.
Well then, good thing to know that when i go up early and freeze my ass off for 7-9 minutes waiting for the bus does some good for my body.
I always thought of it as because I'm slim, I feel cold usually :v:
I always thought of it as because I'm slim, I feel cold usually :v:
are you usually trembling violently
Welp, there is another reason to shower on the cold temperatures for me now.
my room isn't insulated and it's regularly 0 degrees celsius outside i've lost a staggering amount of weight in the last 3 months I wonder if it's helped at all being in my icebox of a room
It totally works. I went out in the cold earlier, and started rapping "My Name Is" after a few minutes of standing idly by. You become old school Slim. It's neato.
Welp, there is another reason to shower on the cold temperatures for me now.
Love stimulating my CNS like this, makes lifting much more explosive.
I really don't like being right out in the cold because it makes me really fucking shaky and I feel like I have parkinson's disease because I simply can't stand still. Staying warm in a cold environment is fucking great though, feels so damn comfy.
;43797490']Also forget hot showers, folks. Cold showers are clearly superior. They don't detach the natural oils keeping your skin from drying like hot water does, either, so it's good for your skin, your surface blood circulation and apparently weight control as well! SCIENCE.
But I take hot showers to get rid of all oil. I'd take a bath in a degreaser if I could.
I'll never complain about walking around in our Canadian winters. I'm typing this outside. It's -28. I am trembling lots.
if this is true there would be no fat people in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin or Canada this is false, so they may want to rethink this
if this is true there would be no fat people in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin or Canada this is false, so they may want to rethink this
Its been a super harsh cold in Chicago and nobody is losing weight. Australian scientists just wish it was colder.
Its been a super harsh cold in Chicago and nobody is losing weight. Australian scientists just wish it was colder.
i think people generally eat more comforting foods in the winter
throwing all my windows open and tossing my blankets in the trash

SCIENCE.
True. This website (although it doesn't exactly look too credible, more like one of those hype-y uppy websites, some errors here and there) lists many reasons to take cold showers:
Fat loss Circulation Temperature regulation Relief From Symptoms of Depression Healthy Skin & Hair (not dried out) Testosterone increase Fertility Increase Energy Increase Lymphatic Movement Inflammation Decrease Breathing Better Sleep Tolerance To Stress
http://impossiblehq.com/cold-shower-health-benefits
Well damn, if my skin didn't flip out and itch like fucking hell when going from cold to hot, I'd be able to go sit outside on the porch in shorts and T-shirt :v:
I like to be comfortable thank you very much. I'll bundle up and take warm showers because it feels nice.
