I just remember it being like the ps2 was, green power on top blue disc on bottom.
I don't understand why they never try to innovate or be creative with the design.
It looks so dull and boring.
hooray for minimalism, cant wait for the stupid fad to die
To be fair, those labels are incredibly small.
Why would you need to see the labels though? Once you hit the button once wouldn't you always remember which one is which?
it looks better than the bigger ps4 yall need to get some taste

minimalism isn't a fad and will never die. it is the only way to go
I like the new button style. I hate how it takes me 500 tries to get the power and eject buttons to register as pressed.
Are they actually buttons or like some sorta proximity detector? how do they actually tell if they're pressed
not sure if scooping up the people who don't have enough money to buy the neo is enough to justify manufacturing two consoles

I think they're just tiny ultra-sensitive touch pads.
My cat turned on the PS4 by lightly hitting it with his tail once.

they fixed this with last year's ps4 revision
now they're mechanical buttons that you can actually press, instead of capacitive buttons
To be fair, those labels are incredibly small.
You don't even have to look at the labels. When I first got my PS4, it was my first time ever looking at one in person and I figured that power would be on top and disk tray on the bottom just like my fat PS2 and I never made that mistake after
500GB models are pretty common in the shops. Which is like 9 games installed at most if they use all the Blu-ray.
It's not super great, but it's not like upgrading the HDD on these things is rocket science. Pop the lid, slap in the hot new 2TB thing you found on eBay, boot it.
9 games at most?
I have like 40 games installed, and I don't own a single Blu-ray for it.
Maybe it's just poor photo perspective but it doesn't really look like a significant decrease in size.
Looks like maybe 30% smaller.
What matters is the reduction in production cost.
This is why I like Xbox. It's always a plain old box. No curves or slopes or shit like that
This is why I like Xbox. It's always a plain old box. No curves or slopes or shit like that
Original Xbox was X shaped, Xbox 360 was curvy as fuck, what are you talking about?
now it looks like a used eraser or a polished potato
Looks like a sandwich gone wrong

I just read the manual when I got my PS4. Ever since then, I've been the master of not-confusing the two buttons with each other.
Also how can the buttons not work properly for some people? I barely need to touch the buttons for them to register. Are you trying to press them with a cane while sitting on your couch or something?
This is why I like Xbox. It's always a plain old box. No curves or slopes or shit like that
The original Xbox is curved at the top making it difficult to stack shit on top of it.

But seriously why can't consoles be flat at the top?
Seems kind of weird to release this and the neo unless this boasts some other improvements on top of size.
seriously. i always get the power button and eject button confused. probably because the labels on the buttons are a trillionth of a millimeter large

Until I read this post I legitimately didn't know the PS4 had an eject button. I thought you had to eject games through the menu.
The Xbox S is very nicely designed and looks classy and elegant, this slim PS4 version looks like a cheap plastic set-top box. Let's hope the price will reflect that.

Looks like the very sturdy plastic used for the PS3 slim, the kind you don't get fingerprints over.
Personally I love that.

Even though i don't give a shit if it is real or fake, does the PS4 have a About / Info section with machine information? Surely they could prove its really real if they showed the information from that screen (without any sensitive information)

I didn't know how to get the buttons to 'work' until a couple weeks ago, where my brother pointed out the tiny little markings I never noticed despite having the thing since January of last year. I just kept thinking there was a pressure-sensitive button I kept accidentally clicking on the top that wasn't marked at all.

It does have a "system information" screen, however, it only contains the console name (can be changed), current firmware version and ip and mac addresses
If this gets a price drop I'm buying. I was going to get one around then anyhow, if it's like $250 like the original XB1 is rn it'll be golden for them
*SNIP* I WAS WRONG, SO VERY WRONG. *SNIP*
Doesn't seem fake to me.
This is so fake.
The Box art has nowhere near the same finesse as a real product. It looks like a scaled image, imagine looking at that IRL.
It would look all goofy.
I dunno, Eurogamer's proof was pretty damn convincing.
Also, dualshock might have been updated a bit:

I mean, it doesn't look very different from stuff sony has done before, see:

I liked the PS2 slim, problem was that the thing was always close to blooming exploding after two hours of gameplay. I have a bias for that anorexic lil thang, but wtf is this shit?
