There are contracts which allow you to fire people for essentially no reason at all, but those kinds of contracts are generally only for lower wage positions. More normal jobs generally require the employer to at least generally pay a severance package. On top of that, generally even in the US only a number of jobs can essentially lead to getting fired or demoted for things done outside of the job - a good example of this are judges for instance.

Marriage in a church mean nothing. You need to get a marriage license. Otherwise the wedding is just a nice ceremony.

I don't see the necessity of marrying in a church to begin with. I'm going to get married in the giant castle at Disney World's Magic Kingdom and wear a crown for the rest of the day.
