I don't understand why you asked this specifically when I already answered your question. Games don't just sell a million copies so easily unless they've already been established to be fairly good. Don't try to be a smartass when you've already been proven wrong.
Because Dishonored, Mass Effect, Bioshock and Crysis all sold horribly.
You guys are overreacting! Nintendo built cel shading for that game for the experience! You think they would just complety destroy it with a remake? No! Just wait it will be all Ok when it's done.
im guessing the art style is like that because it's a WIP and not done yet
They even said it won't won't be out until the fall, I'm sure things will change by then. [editline]23rd January 2013[/editline]
Because Dishonored, Mass Effect, Bioshock and Crysis all sold horribly.
Multiplatform vs single-platform. Heavy advertisement vs little to no advertisement. ok
Multiplatform vs single-platform. ok
Crysis was PC exclusive.
Crysis was PC exclusive.
See the edit I made. Also, Crysis 2 and 3 are multiplatform so eh.
Because Dishonored, Mass Effect, Bioshock and Crysis all sold horribly.
Now count how many other games have come out since most of those were released. (every single one) Now count how most of them sold a million copies. It isn't an easy feat no matter how you cut it. You asked for new IPs and I gave you new IPs. Get over yourself.
I wasn't able to post all of my thoughts last time. It's really sad that my most anticipated game again this year is another remake/enhanced port (Last year was Persona 4 Golden), but I just can't help myself. Wind Waker is like near the pinnacle of gaming for me, in terms of gameplay, story, atmosphere, and cast. Not saying that it's flawless, but the issues I encountered were easily overlooked and the game remains one of my favorites to fall back on and play; so for me this news is more exciting then then if they announced the new HD Zelda title because I don't think Nintendo is ever going to top themselves. About the graphical style of the new HD version...I get where people are coming from. Personally, I think it looks great, but it feels different from the original title rather then improved. Wind Waker itself stood the test of time and looks beautiful even today, and that's saying something considering it released in 2002 (Japan). It almost feels like they're putting a lot of extra effort into it for something must people would of been content otherwise.
Heavy advertisement vs little to no advertisement.
Nintendo are a big company, I'm sure they could launch a huge advertising campaign if they wanted to.
Nintendo are a big company, I'm sure then could launch a huge advertising campaign if they wanted to.
They seem to spend more time advertising their consoles than the actual games.
They seem to spend more time advertising their consoles than the actual games.
Yeah I've noticed that too.
It seems way off the original style, though it's pretty sexy in its own right.
I don't really know how to feel about this, it seems too soon for a remake of this game, and I don't like that over-the-top bloom effect, it clashes with the otherwise clean graphics of the original, that's my only complain about the graphics. Other than all that I'll wait until the game comes out to make a full judgement, but I'm curious about what they'll add. I'm pretty sure Tinglevision is going to be fully implemented in this version now, which is a neat thing. I hope it also adds new content (Like adding stuff to some islands that are otherwise pretty much empty) and, most important of all, a reorchestrated soundtrack, that would be something really amazing.
I don't like the colour change or the intense bloom - gamecube version is much prettier, albeit in SD. Emulated in 1080p, the gamecube version looks much nicer.
Emulated in 1080p with antialiasing and anistropic filtering, Wind Waker's graphics hold up even today. Nintendo should have just done that, but with higher res textures and maybe some better quality geometry
I'm torn. On one hand, I don't like remakes, and don't really want to buy a Wii U. On the other hand Wind Waker is the best Zelda game, and one of the greatest games ever made.
It still looks nice if it's not being compared to the original I.E if it was just a stand alone image but then placed side by side, there is a huge difference. I also honestly hope that they go back and do the music so it's a proper orchestra.
i want this if only for this game, im getting a wii u

It's been 10 years, that is plenty of time. As long as it isn't half-arsed I am really happy about this, Wind Waker is my favourite Zelda game.
You know, I can kinda see why they'd remake Wind Waker, and not something like Twilight Princess and such. Ocarina of Time 3D is on the 3DS and all, and if they were to remake Majora's Mask, it'd probably be on the same system for consistency. You can already play Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword via the Wii backwards compatibility on the Wii U, albeit without fancy features. Wind Waker? As a Gamecube title, it was either a remake/HD port or a straight Virtual Console emulation / re-release since, despite the Wii having similar capabilities to the Gamecube, the game isn't playable anymore on the Wii U by itself.
I also honestly hope that they go back and do the music so it's a proper orchestra.
The music alone made the sailing:
Still looks better when emulated with proper settings, I'm hardly sold so far.
The new graphics look pretty on the landscape and buildings. Then I see the characters...

Why, Nintendo? [editline]23rd January 2013[/editline] And what the fuck happened to the character designs?

I had the impression the game was eight or seven years old. I feel so old now :v: Yeah, ten years seem like a reasonable ammount of time for a remake.
Guys, I've rocketed to the moon on the trail of semen I came whilst reading this article. I got a little to excited, so now I'm trapped. Please contact NASA to help me. [editline]23rd January 2013[/editline] Seriously guys, this fishbowl on my head doesn't hold much oxygen.
Do people actually enjoy remakes? Re-releasing a game seems like a pure cash grab, It just seems stupid to buy an old game for a second time.
Do people actually enjoy remakes? Re-releasing a game seems like a pure cash grab, It just seems stupid to buy an old game for a second time.
At least it'll be a downloadable title for $20 or less, probably, and it'll be the definitive product for people like me who never bought the game originally.

I really hope this turns out good Wind Waker was my first and favourite game of the series.
I'll just emulate the GC version on Dolphin, save $250
I hope they change the gameplay a bit. I've played it recently and it was still wonderful, but its too easy. Having the A button to press when in danger makes it too easy.
