I'm curious as to how they plan to fight a war with such a small fuel shortage. It might be the another one of the shortest wars in history like the USA has had before.
They may have fuel stockpiled and stowed away and they've been rationing it during Peace time until they desperately need it when a war starts.
I don't think the world would be able to stand another war. :ohdear:

Assuming a war does start. Anyone think they're going to call a draft?
More than likely. Stretched across two fronts, I don't imagine we'd have the numbers to fight effectively in Korea unless we pulled out of Iraq and Afghanistan immediately.

Human Civilization has been built upon, thrived, and died upon war. It impossible to not have war but just hope there are no war

What about the troops we've got stationed in Japan and South Korea already? Plus the warship. Plus some extra troops here at home. I mean personally, I really don't want them to call the draft because I don't want to be dragged into war.
SSSSSATURDAY NIGHT MOTHERFUCKER.
Korean war, whole box of macoroni and cheese, and marijuana.
You'd think with 30,000 troops they'd want a little backup. It sounds like a lot but in open warfare it's a rather small force. You've got a good point with the George Washington there, so they'd be well supported. I feel congress would wait a month or two to see how the war is turning out before they call a draft.

I don't know many military vehicles or aircraft that use straight gasoline.
Jet fuel.
Edited: apparently has a maximum shelf life of 2 years, thanks google.
well, I guess we'll see how Advanced Tech fairs against overwhelming numbers.

Advanced Tech will probably win. The air support and helicopters we have will be able to mow down the North Korean's large numbers once we have superiority.

Shit man, isn't it Sunday on that side of the world?
Also, how far can their nuke(s) reach? I live in Nevada, which is next to California and that's next to the Pacific. Im not worried about the nukes, just fallout.

If I remember rightly from what was mentioned on the news around the time they did a proper test they could POSSIBLY hit a certain region in Japan, all the missile tests seemed to just fall into the sea.
Why the hell is everyone assuming China will side with North Korea? If North Korea does go to war they'll hit South Korea first, and the U.S will back South Korea and China will most certainly remain neutral or supply/assist U.S and SK as China is co-dependent economically with the U.S and wouldn't risk it for that.

Because A) they backed them up the first time around and B) They still technically have a mutual defense treaty.
Yeah I'd imagine it's hard to get planes up and flying for training when you have absolutely no fuel. I was more thinking infantry. I was under the impression that their army is decently fed (obviously not well) because any available food goes to party members, the military, and then general population (in that order).
I doub their gets any better training than their pilots. The numbers are really only a facade.

Everyone's minds are stuck in the Cold War before the US recognized the PRC.

"Open" warfare is going to be rare in the mountainous terrain of the Korean peninsula. In South Korea the only US combat troops consist of a hollowed-out infantry division. Only it's heavy brigade combat team, artillery brigade and aviation brigade is stationed there. I don't know why but the division's two Stryker brigade combat teams are sitting on their hands at Fort Lewis, Washington with one busy in Afghanistan.

Because there isn't going to be a conflict?

Well, if we are smart, we will only engage in open warfare.
We have to stop playing into the same guerrilla warfare trap. Reduce enemy forces to near guerrilla levels and then simply leave. Desert storm worked out great because we LEFT before getting too involved.
Blow up their bases. Level any artillery points, fake or real. Collapse roads. Blow up any visible fuel depots.
Sure they will have shit hidden away, but who cares? All you have to do is prove that you CAN slaughter them. If they fail to comply, continue an air campaign against any and all government buildings available.
In some respects the mentality is similar to WWII Japan. The people believe themselves to be a part of an unstoppable empire. Take them down a notch and suddenly everyone is much more compliant. I just hope that this can be achieved by destroying military bases, storage facilities, roads, power plants, and government facilities. The people themselves have been horribly brainwashed and do not deserve any of this. Thankfully, unlike WWII Japan, the country already sucks ass completely, so proving that they suck probably won't require such extreme lengths.

Alright, you're limited to only a few locations then. Don't think that light infantry is the key to a Korean War?

They already know that the South and Americans can slaughter them, otherwise they would have invaded already instead of making noise for 50+ years. As for destroying government buildings, that's going to be hard when US and SK have little to no intelligence on the locations of the many North Korean C2 facilities, which are underground and hardened against PGMs. If you can to destroy them, first you have to know where they are. Getting into the enemy's OODA loop then is going to require ground forces.
