Consider the fact that Kevin's speech was 24 condensed minutes talking about how awesome he is, and that just summed things up really. No matter how you spin it, Rudd was always a dominant, controlling, megalomaniac who, while popular with the people, wasn't popular with his party. That tells a lot about the way Kevin conducted himself in office.
In my mind, as much as I'm not jumping for joy at the thought of Abbott being our PM, Kevin wouldn't have ridden on his promise of gay marriage and the NBN. It was also obvious that the Coalition was going to win. People were angry and wanted change. That's democracy for you. I don't like it as much as the next person, but Australia will have to take a bite of the shit sandwich and bare through it.
If you're really going to stick to your guns and really think that Labor had a chance in hell of securing majority seats, let alone a minority government, then you're delusional. That's all there is to it.
