The correlation would be that business students would NOT vote for the Coalition.
I might be speaking for just myself but I am a student of Business and Commerce, and although I am one of the most right-leaning members of this forum, I preferenced my vote for Labor and the Greens over the Coalition. On the economics side of things, I agree far more with Labor's approach to fiscal policy (with Keynesian influences) than I do with the Coalition's approach (closer to classical economics).
However the left only ever seems to get as far as the "times are bad (when they really aren't), let's spend money like it's confetti" part of the Keynesian idea, when it comes to the part where they actually pay back their debt.... Well it's never happened under a Labor government in my lifetime. The idea seems fine, shame Labor doesn't seem capable of fiscally managing BBQ fund raiser let alone a country.
Also I don't know how you claim to be right leaning, the rights economic abilities are the only reason they are worth siding with, their social policies are continually biggitod backward nonsense that is often religiously influenced.
this is the guy thats going to be leading this shit

I might go try and find work in New Zealand.

FP full of impressionable idiots. Sure coalition is shit, but labor is shittier and the last 6 years has been proof of that.
However the left only ever seems to get as far as the "times are bad (when they really aren't), let's spend money like it's confetti" part of the Keynesian idea, when it comes to the part where they actually pay back their debt.... I am right leaning yes, and both the Coalition and Labor have rightwing platforms (with the Labor party being more left leaning than the Coalition). It just so happens that I'm not as far right as the Coalition is, and in terms of social policy I prefer the Labor party anyways (although their policy on things like asylum seekers is unethical and disgusting).

Terms are only 3 years in Australia?
Prospects are looking up already.
FP full of impressionable idiots. Sure coalition is shit, but labor is shittier and the last 6 years has been proof of that.
Just as the coalition won't do anything bad, the Labor party also didn't do much damage. The good was balanced with the bad. That's how it always goes. Considering the majority of Australia does not support the Labor party, FP is less impressionable.
please explain how we've been fucked over
well you see, debt and uh... the boats! FUCK OFF WE'RE FULL!
Terms are only 3 years in Australia?

Terms are unlimited.
I'm really just hoping for Turnbull to backstab Abbott at some point. I mean, I like Turnbull a hell of a lot more then big-ears.
Terms are only 3 years in Australia?

There are no term limits for PM.
It's just that Prime Ministers are expected to announce elections every three years, otherwise the Governor-General (I think) steps in and does so.
Terms are infinite.
Yeah term was the wrong word, I don't know exactly what the word is though.
I meant he has to call an election after just 3 years, in Britain it's 5 years.
-snip-

Yeah, general election every 3-4 years, but a single party can stay in power indefinitely.
Glad we both clarified this. :v:
Time to kiss the NBN goodbye lads!
FP full of impressionable idiots. Sure coalition is shit, but labor is shittier and the last 6 years has been proof of that.
The Libs have ran a campaign purely on blaming the incumbent for all your problems and have proved on quite a few times they have awful policy but won't tell you what it is because it'll hurt their chances.
You eat up all the shit they spew, yet people on FP are impressionable idiots.
FP full of impressionable idiots. Sure coalition is shit, but labor is shittier and the last 6 years has been proof of that.
You mean the part where Labour saved Australia from a recession with their spending policies, wanted better education, and wanted marriage equality (Or at least Rudd did)?
Yeah, they totally ruined the joint.
You guys shouldn't act surprised considering Labor fucked around with their leadership crisis and people are likely distrustful and have jumped ship. That said, that doesn't justify anything, it's just an observation.
Time to kiss the NBN goodbye lads!
Technically they still have to pass legislation in the senate to stop it..
So it's not exactly "BAM, and the net is gone."
But, I am hoping that my area can get it done before it goes.
It's expected to finish on June 30th, 2014.
So how many of the seats have actually been won? I've been keeping an eye on three different sources and they all show different sets of numbers.
So how many of the seats have actually been won? I've been keeping an eye on three different sources and they all show different sets of numbers.
Coalition just won.
Coalition just won.
We're doomed, it's over.
Coalition just won.
ABC says they still need 2 more seats, the AEC website says 1 more and Sky News says 16. Which one is accurate?

Because partially knowing what the word keynesian means but not understanding how national debt works is a great way to describe Liberal voters.
National debt and macroeconomics isn't a factor based on how the private sector is performing along with international cashflow into the country, it's the same as me spending money on my credit card and it surely won't fuck up things to force the private sector to run down just so you can get a governmental surplus.
Really guys, I know how things work, I talk about it all the time so I can't just be pulling shit out of my ass, honestly.
ABC says they still need 2 more seats, the AEC website says 1 more and Sky News says 16. Which one is accurate?
AEC

Probably AEC, Sky will be the least because they want to make the drama go on for longer. But it doesn't matter because they call the seats before all the votes have been counted. So there isn't actually a way to tell how many have at this very moment have been won. But you can trust anyone who calls it in favour of the coalition :v:
[editline]7th September 2013[/editline]
This was the fastest election I have ever seen in my whole life. Even the Queensland state one took longer to be called than this and Labor ended up with 6 seats in that election.

The Sky News reporters have given up on seeming impartial and are pretty openly showing their joy at the Liberal Party's successes.
please explain how we've been fucked over
To quote my step-father (although this was in relation to him not voting for Julia Gillard)
"Because they've fucked us"
That's the reason he voted against Labor in the last 2 elections.
