To quote my step-father (although this was in relation to him not voting for Julia Gillard) "Because they've fucked us" That's the reason he voted against Labor in the last 2 elections.
They abolished Work Choices.. If you have a job, then you'd be stark raving mad to vote against them.
He's self employed, he doesn't care about things like that. He likes to repeat the claims about how the economy is bad, how asylum seekers are overwhelming us, etc. but can never back up any of the statements.
people are so fucking stupid.
People are idiots. [editline]7th September 2013[/editline] I was beaten to it.
They abolished Work Choices.. If you have a job, then you'd be stark raving mad to vote against them.
I don't remember what work choices or the GST are, all I remember is the Carbon tax raped my mother. If only we could go back to the glorious old days under John Howard when we ran a budget surplus and because of that single fact everything was made of gold. What ever happened to those good old days?
so i'm starting up a suicide pact anyone want to join me? we'll strangle ourselves with copper wire
Still one seat to go, maybe a miracle will happen. [editline]7th September 2013[/editline] Nope there it goes.
RIP Australia
I think i'm going to go have myself a nice drink. Remember guys, "Society progresses one funeral at a time"
I don't remember what work choices or the GST are, all I remember is the Carbon tax raped my mother.
Thanks to this, there is now spilt vodka on my monitor.
THIS JUST IN: Mitt Romney has plastic surgery, buys speedos, proceeds to live in Australia under new identity "Tony Abbott"
I think I've suddenly come to realise why it is that people cut themselves. I never understood before this point. It makes sense now, though.
"I think it would be folly to expect that women will ever dominate or even approach equal representation in a large number of areas simply because their aptitudes, abilities and interests are different for physiological reasons" -Tony Abbott somebody remind me what century we're in
Malcom turnbull please save us all
rip in peace nbn
A liberal win has been on the cards for a while now, not sure why everyone is so surprised. The only thing that has shocked me is how many votes Clive Palmer is getting
A liberal win has been on the cards for a while now, not sure why everyone is so surprised. The only thing that has shocked me is how many votes Clive Palmer is getting
It's understandable that a person's hand can slip
How bad is Tony Abbot as far as ultra conservative politicians go?
rip aus
How bad is Tony Abbot as far as ultra conservative politicians go?
Really not that bad. (I have to tell myself this for my own sanity, but it is mostly true).
A liberal win has been on the cards for a while now, not sure why everyone is so surprised.
This. I'm optimistic enough to think that people only voted for Abbott because they're so pissed off at how Labor cannot organise themselves to save their lives. The continous leadership switching within the party was a textbook example of how to make the Australian population feel like a pack of idiots. Confidence within the party was high when they did the Julia-Rudd switcheroo, but the fact of the matter was that this had the side effect of making people feel like what they did had no choice. And this isn't America as well, you don't vote for the person, you vote for the party. Forgetting the fact the positive changes they made, the population will only remember the bad stuff. Such is the way of disgruntled people.

what have you guys done
Oh, god... Julia Bishop (possible future Min. for Foreign Affairs) is saying that she may (given many hypotheticals), "follow our allies" in regards to Syria. FUCK
Face punch is full of communist fucks, huzzah to the victory for liberal.
We were so fucking close to being one of the few countries in the world to legalise same sex marriage. SO FUCKING CLOSE. We could have acted alongside a select few others as a shining example to the rest of the world - we could have embodied an ideal that others would eventually look up to, learn to respect, and follow. But nope. That was too fucking good to be true.
Clive Palmer is going to win his seat! And things in the senate are apparently going to be crazy messed up. I promised myself I wouldn't follow this and just go to sleep but politics is just so delicious.
