For a start, Kevin was barely in the public eye until he retook his position as PM recently, so he didn't really have much chance to announce it.
And second... I don't actually give a shit if he really cares or not - if he did it and didn't really give a shit one way or another he'd still be a better man than Tony Abbott and in my eyes a better leader for our country.
