Good to see certain media outlets are already using this atrocity to push agenda.
yeah mate i'm sure paying a good few hundred a year for insurance is totally reasonable i mean its not like we need to eat or anything and i mean everyone expects to get shot in a theater, right?
A few hundred a year is a lot when it could literally make or break the rest of your life if an accident comes? Actually, a few hundred a year is a lot???
Christian way- bale will fix this, no prob!
Man does that fucking suck. All the kit the guy used when he shot up the place was probably about a 1000th of that cost. Could start a Kickstarter to help.
Shit, meant to rate other. Kickstarter can't be used to personal ventures, only projects. http://www.kickstarter.com/help/guidelines
A few hundred a year is a lot when it could literally make or break the rest of your life if an accident comes? Actually, a few hundred a year is a lot???
For some people it is? For instance, the minimum wage in Spain is around €700. And they have to live somewhere and feed themselves, and possibly others. So yes, a few hundreds can be a lot. But hey, you're probably still a kid who has no concept of reality still, so shush.
USA, where it's easier to get a gun that it is to get a mammogram or have an appendectomy.
Where it's cheaper to take a life than to save a life by light years.
A few hundred a year is a lot when it could literally make or break the rest of your life if an accident comes? Actually, a few hundred a year is a lot???
I pay €105 a month for my health insurance, so I dunno where he gets his cheap insurance but I'd like some of that. Fucking awful, the US makes me sick. Pay taxes all your life, lol too bad you have to pay this shit we don't help you
And this is why you have insurance Dumb? I know he shouldn't have to pay for insurance for something that should be a right, but he should have dealt with it and had insurance, woulda saved him bankruptcy and 2 million dollars.
I'm going to assume you're <15, getting insurance is not even remotely as simple as "lol should have had insurance lol his fault"
No, it should be paid by the shooter. He'll be in prison for the rest of his life anyways, drain him dry.
no it shouldn't because the shooter probably can't afford 2m and then nothing'll get paid.
It actually annoys me when you have pundits insulting the NHS. My father is alive because of it, and didn't have to pay a penny, and for that I'm eternally grateful.
Heck, I'm a staunch Tory and even I admit that Labour's idea to create the NHS was that of genius
simply don't pay it. What are they gonna do? Undo all the work?
Inability to pay for food or anything? Repossession of everything he owns? Jail?
Good to see certain media outlets are already using this atrocity to push agenda.
What the hell are you talking about? Are you implying that a family being put into 2 million dollars of debt because of a mass murderer and our shitty health care system isn't an atrocity?

Same for the politicians.
I'm so glad thousands of American's have to die each year just so I can have an extra $100 in my pocket at the end of the year, god bless FREEDOM this is what the founding fathers would have wanted, down with obongo!!!!!! Seriously, shit like this is fucking stupid. It's impossible to justify something like this by claiming PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY or BUT MY TAXES MIGHT GO UP without looking like a total fucking idiot.
Funny you didn't notice where I said [editline]24th July 2012[/editline]
I'm just observing that you were sure quick to jump on that opinion that people shouldn't bring politics into this tragedy when it happens to be something you don't agree with.
I suppose you can be jailed, as you're technically stealing money. Not a US lawyer here, but that's my safest bet...
I don't know about Colorado, but in Texas it is unconstitutional to be jailed for debt.
Charity in 3... 2...
Fucking awful, the US makes me sick. Pay taxes all your life, lol too bad you have to pay this shit we don't help you I'm going to assume you're <15, getting insurance is not even remotely as simple as "lol should have had insurance lol his fault"
Poor people always come out with the "I BET UR JUST SO YOUNG" because I don't see eye to eye with your unfortunate upbringing and social standing.
What's funny is the fucker who shot everybody will get free healthcare for life in one of our fine maximum security prisons while this poor fucker will probably hang himself when the bills start clogging his mailbox, assuming the debt collectors don't repossess his house.
devil's advocate for a moment: no, the govt is meant to provide law and order and protect borders from foreign incursion. everything else can theoretically be delegated to the private sector
why would you play devils advocate for such a terrible, terrible point
I suppose you can be jailed, as you're technically stealing money. Not a US lawyer here, but that's my safest bet...
Well you can't be denied health care in this country, if it's an emergency. And if you have no way to pay for it then you just have no way to pay for it. The hospital will generally set you up with discounts, set you up on a payment plan, even if it's a small little amount each month, payment is payment, help you get hooked up with medicaid or what have you I doubt you'd be jailed. Losing your house, however, is a possibility Health Care is outrageously expensive, and it's stupid to go without health insurance. But it also shouldn't be up to the government as a whole to decide that for us. What works for the people of Oregon isn't going to necessarily work for the people of North Carolina, though I do like how it's making these companies more reliable in paying out
Poor people always come out with the "I BET UR JUST SO YOUNG" because I don't see eye to eye with your unfortunate upbringing and social standing.
yeah mostly because if you can't sympathize with people like this and say stupid shit like "haha just get insurance IDIOT!" it's because you're either A. stupid or B. a child [editline]25th July 2012[/editline]
Shouldn't he be covered by Obamacare? Holy shit, if you're going to implement something, at least fucking do it right.
it doesn't kick in until like 2014 you don't implement a massive healthcare reform overnight
Poor people always come out with the "I BET UR JUST SO YOUNG" because I don't see eye to eye with your unfortunate upbringing and social standing.
what makes you think you're qualified to make dumb sweeping statements statements such as this....? me and my parents are living off SSI because of an series of incidents at the moment and we're a working class family, so, I don't see what you're getting at?
Poor people always come out with the "I BET UR JUST SO YOUNG" because I don't see eye to eye with your unfortunate upbringing and social standing.
So you do understand that poor people can't afford it. So you have no excuse for saying "lol they should just buy it". Or do you understand it?
Actually, a few hundred a year is a lot???
Yeah, when we don't have mommy and daddy to pay for everything or a bloody amazing job that pays us out the ass to do literally nothing, it's kind of a big deal to not have a few hundred. I still live with my parents, mum works, father works, I work, and we're still just scraping by with being poor as fucking shit. I can't afford insurance, I can barely afford fucking gas for my car to get to work at times. Honestly all cool shit, video games, airsoft, paintball, everything I have that isn't from thrift shops comes from gifts or me selling my own artwork and doing designs for companies. That or it's part of my savings. I save maybe $10 a month if I'm lucky.
I still don't understand why the fuck don't people want Obamacare. Wouldn't it be a huge improvement in life for lots of people, especially this guy?
devil's advocate for a moment: no, the govt is meant to provide law and order and protect borders from foreign incursion. everything else can theoretically be delegated to the private sector
Not exactly. The government of a democratic society is meant to serve it's people(law, order and protection are a part of that service). How the government serves the people depends on what party gets voted by the people into power. If the people voted for a party that wants Universal Healthcare then it's that party's job to do so once elected. What I'm saying is that Universal Healthcare isn't something a government is forced to do but if the people want it, then they must do it, after all it's one of the reasons they got elected.
The US definitely has a sane healthcare system
