Perhaps you think US imperialism is a product of a militant government. If that's the case, you should know, as a socialist, that government acts in ruling class interests.

I can reconcile with Ron Paul on a few social issues(such as less Government control over people's lives), although I am far more left economically.

I'm aware. He's anti-imperialistic in the sense that we should stop exploiting other countries and turning them into our satellites. Countries like Iraq, for instance, they don't do what we want so we invade them. Countries like Mexico, who have an abundance of resources to exploit so we create treaties and deals with them so that the Mexican people can get fucked in the ass by our corporations.

then, in my opinion, he's either lying or an idiot. i don't know him too well so i won't judge. the prosperity of our economy relies almost entirely on the exploitation of foreign, less-developed countries whose own capital is so small that foreign capital swipes it away in competition and flows like water. this advantage our own businesses have is what gives our economy its profitability.
if in the case that ron paul truly is to be an anti-imperialist, then i find it less then surprising that he has yet to be president, fitting the same case as the reason why socialists and other opposition that oppose the dominating business interests have yet to become a significant force in our government.
