I'd give a lot of the money back, but I know that here in norway, a transaction gone to the wrong account means they belong to whoever recieved the money. A bank error is another thing, but if someone wrote the wrong account number, they would be fucked unless he CHOSE to give them the money.
Brb setting up loads of norwegian bank accounts
Unsuprising considering that banks create the money in the first place. All that is needed is a tiny mistake, a few extra 0's in the ledger :P
If this ever happened to be, i'd conveniently arrange for my debit card to be "stolen". Wasn't me that stole all the money, someone else did it! How did I afford a new house you ask? A stranger passing by on the street gave me the deeds.
Man, I used to have 2.5k in my bank [sp]and I wasted it down to $20.[/sp]
Atleast he can say he legally owned nearly 10 billion once
if that was me. withdraw all money. run away and live as a fugative.
if that was me. withdraw all money. run away and live as a fugative.
Where would you put all of that money?
To all those saying withdraw the money: Congratulations for reading the OP
How is it theft if it was given to you? Their error, not your crime.
If you ask me for change and I accidentally give you five 100 dollar bills instead of five 1 dollar bills and you realize this, you still knowingly stole something.
reminds me of that scene from that bad thriller movie Eagle Eye where Shia LaBeouf is on the poverty line but checks his balance in an ATM and finds millions of dollars in it from nowhere.
To all those saying withdraw the money: Congratulations for reading the OP
It would seem that people see the "$9.8 billion" and just disregard the rest of it.
I would have withdrew a large amount and reported the rest to the bank
I would have withdrew a large amount.
I would have withdrew a large amount.
Since when did they let blind people browse FP
*checks bank account* Well shit.
if that was me. withdraw all money. run away and live as a fugative.
The largest denomination in US currency is $100. This would mean you would end up having to withdraw 9.8 million individual bills (you don't want anyone tracing your checks, would you?). Now, a US dollar bill weighs about one gram, which means this amount of money would weigh nearly ten metric tons (11 tons for us Americans). Have fun sneaking out of the country with that school bus on your back. [editline]x[/editline] And even if you could find ninety-eight thousand $100,000 bills (which were never produced in that quantity, never mind circulated by the general public), you would still be carrying a weight equivalent to a very large, muscular man.

If it were me and the money was cleared I'd buy a Harrier jet. :v:
Congratulations, you are now guilty of theft.
Another great reason to blindly withdraw money without ever checking my balance. That way, if I end up accidentally getting a lot of money for free, I can claim ignorance and honestly say that I didn't know. This is a full-proof plan.
They should had rewarded him. Maybe give the man 1000 bucks for being honest
They should had rewarded him. Maybe give the man 1000 bucks for being honest
Doesn't matter, the bank would've found out quickly, most likely.
you cant withdraw more than 1mil(not sure) without investigation and shit.So He would have been caught anyway.
