Street race in Vancouver, BC with 13 luxury and supercars

The cops should be happy they stopped for them. I've heard of cops stop chasing a civic so there wouldn't be any damage.
There has to be more to this story. How did a bunch of under-20's manage to get Nissan GT-R's and Lamborghini Gallardos?
This is why I'm not going to shed one single tear if all the cars are permanently impounded. It's clearly just a bunch of shithead rich kids in their parent's cars. None of them should ever have been given the keys in the first place.

Having rich ass parents sure can get you a lot.

Yes, we can put those fucking kid's asses into 7-year-old Civics and Corollas where they belong. If they want cool cars they can get jobs and pay for them.

Yeah those parents worked hard to get there, and then gave it to their kids, perhaps too much but w/e, their money.
Police officers are jealous, clearly. Nobody gets their cars impounded for speeding.
Annnnnnd the ignorant posts start! It's actually a law in vancouver that if you're proven to be going (I believe it's 30km/hr, though it could be 20) over the speed limit, they can impound your car. They are recent, but you still should AT LEAST google it

Yes yes, their parents worked for the millions they apparently possess, but since you're jealous we shouldn't allow that. I don't think it's necessarily a good idea to give a child a 300k+ car, but it's their money.
Step 1: Seize the cars
Step 2: Create an Interceptor unit
Step 3:
I was down that area at that time, and I was wondering to myself, "What are all those kids doing, standing around a bunch of expensive cars for?"
Then, of course, I saw the cops, and had a good laugh.
But how rich would they have to be to buy their kid a damn Gallardo?
Not that rich. A Gallardo is what, $220 000? If you make a million or two a year it's not that big of a deal (considering you should only buy it once, unless the kid is a retard/careless and crashes it).

Oh wow it never ceases to amaze me how jealous and mad FP'ers get at rich people.
Instead of playing videogames get a job or go to university, becoming rich is far from impossible if you want to.

Not everyone one has the same chance to make that money.
and people are mostly mad about these people having not earned said money and just born into it and wasting it.
From that list I've only seen the Audi r8 and the Nissan GTR in person. Those two alone are such sexy cars. Seeing all those cars together must've been orgasmic.
And watch them crash their vehicles.

You know you're right, if you were even on the low side of rich you'd be able to afford a Lamborghini in a year or so's time. I find it unfortunate though that people often don't get to be able to afford things like that, but I guess if everyone could it wouldn't be fun.
I hope I can be rich when i grow up ;(
I say they seize the vehicles and turn them into cop cars

shit i'm late
So much jealousy in this thread, they shouldn't be given Corollas or anything like that, it's not your money they are spending..
That said, I still disagree with the fine they were given, 200 bucks is close to nothing for them.
Massie said the incident highlights an important message to drivers: "Speed is fairly unforgiving. Whenever you're involved in a motor vehicle accident where there's any speed at all, it's unforgiving ... Slow down, be responsible and understand that speed limits are there for a reason."
In what way does thirteen people being safely pulled over and fined for street racing highlight the danger of high-speed car accidents? I think the message that's been highlighted here is more along the lines of, "Oversights in the law have made Vancouver the cheapest place to speed, so instead of fixing that we're going to beg a judge to let us keep these fine-ass automobiles."
I'd bet money that these are foreign students whose rich parents send them to an actual country so they can get an education, especially if this happened in Vancouver. AKA rich kids with no supervision. Apparently the cops are going to try and charge them for reckless driving which means the cops keep their cars.
