I remember reading in a history book that in hungary in the 1980s our prime minister got around 105% votes. Cant remember exactly but i know it was above 100%. How the fuck?
It's not clear if Putin was directly involved or even ordered it, but there's some quite obvious fraud going on here. Not even in the most slidey of landslides does a party get this many votes.
Yeah, chechnya is an awful awful place to live.
[editline]8th December 2011[/editline]
on the upside if you did live in chechnya you're probably dead now
I just don't understand it. If they wanted to rig it without as much suspicion they'd pick more reasonable figures.

Is it Russian Fox News or something?
Something smells of a rigged election. I don't care how good you are, you don't get 99.48 percent of your population to follow you.
How can you not vote for him?

A large majority of Russian media is still state-owned. I'd say it's an entirely different beast than Fox News.

Well state-owned doesn't inherently mean it's wrong. Take NPR for example, it's essentially the most unbiased station in the US, it just gets a bit boring sometimes.
Putin rigging the vote, how absurd.
rigged.
What has Putin done that is so bad that the country hates him (beyond the obvious rigging of course)
in russia, government votes to keep you!

NPR isn't boring it just doesn't make use of exciting announcers and other marketing gimmicks that have no place in public radio.

oh right. NPR isn't really state owned, just state funded.
oh right. NPR isn't really state owned, just state funded.
Well it's a public service. As for 'boring', perhaps long nature specials and pieces on a grand new type of animal just don't appeal to me. Their regular news is fine, if not a bit short because it's not a 24/7 news station, and their political commentary always has both sides of an issue represented.

There were no public elections between 1949 and 1989 in Hungary, the party leader gave his post to his successor himself.

Proves that Stalin too was a great leader.
I bet Putin has a hard time not dening peoples rights. He is just trying to get a fix after being out of the kgb for so long. You guys have no idea what he must be going through.
Of course it's rigged. Putin is only slightly better then Stalin. And even that I'm not sure about.
So is this revolution starting worthy or is this normal in Russia
So is this revolution starting worthy or is this normal in Russia
Over the last 100 years? Pretty fucking normal in Russia.
So is this revolution starting worthy or is this normal in Russia
Kind of like saying occupy wallstreet is revolution starting.

Wait, when did Putin order the starvation and execution of millions of innocent people?

He could have, you never know with Putin.
Wait, when did Putin order the starvation and execution of millions of innocent people?
when they turned guilty of treason
He could have, you never know with Putin.
Maybe (though highly doubtful), but we know for certain that Stalin DID have millions systematically starved, shot, and imprisoned.
