why can't there ever be videos of good cops?
why can't there ever be videos of good cops?
i think i remember seeing one of those guys that acts like a huge twat to cops and video tapes them and declares out of nowhere "I HAVE RIGHTS", and the cop just told him to fix his rear brakelight and have a nice day
we all know the majority of cops aren't bad but that isn't an excuse for the large number of incidents like these that are occurring, american police forces need to be reformed and the process of joining and maintaining your job needs to be a lot more strict.
I was expecting the pig to be by himself in this encounter, but his PARTNER IS RIGHT THERE HOLDING HER. How did equal or lesser force come in? That lady couldn't raise her arms without suffering a heart-attack.
Where's the follow-up? The cop should guard a landfill for the rest of his goddamn life.
Send the officer to afghanistan for 6 years :v:
Send the officer to afghanistan for 6 years :v:
So he tries to stick his knife in a kid's torso like that one drunk soldier last month ?
Ah, apparently this lady has been aggressive in the past- with prior arrests for assaulting an officer. My opinion doesn't change at all.

Yeah, so he can build his ego even more beating up innocent civilians.
When I see these threads, I need to try very, very hard to remember that the vast majority of cops aren't power-hungry douchebags.
And then people tell you that the mere fact that this happens often means there is a serious problem with your police force, regardless of what percentage of all officers they are.

Not the best one, but I think this might fit:

About 6:30 you'll see the good guy. Not all cops are bad. There are good ones in between.
True, but I doubt the amount of bad cops exceeds two percent. Whether or not that's too much is up to your moral conundrums.
and the rest of the cops sit by and let it happen. Real "good cops"
Hes just one bad apple right guys?
One bad apple in a bunch of bad apples. Now a days it seems it's harder to find a good cop than it is to find a bad cop.
I see police abuse their power on a daily basis, turning their sirens on to go through red lights, running stop signs, you know basic traffic violations. And it makes me nervous to know that these people who are given the duty to protect and serve me are out there abusing their power and other people when they don't have to.
If I drove a car and was pulled over for speeding or running a stop sign or anything like that, honestly I wouldn't be surprised if I had the nerve to ask the cop why they don't get pulled over for the same thing. I feel more people need to take into consideration that we have the right to place officers under citizens arrest if we feel they are breaking the very law they are set out to enforce.
To be honest living in the state of California, I believe all law enforcement personnel here need to be fired, retrained, or permanently stuck behind a desk. At least San Bernardino County Sheriffs should be, because I've never seen anyone be arrested for public intoxication without getting some sort of breathalyzer or drug test, I was arrested for public intoxication on the cops assumption that I was under the influence of an intoxicant by him doing a sobriety test, but what is confusing is I was arrested and they could have easily given me a breathalyzer or drug test to prove my innocence, instead they threw me in the drunk tank with other people. Hours pass and everyone in that small room leaves, and I'm alone. Time passes still, I get bored and try politely asking what is going to happen to me, if my father had shown up, etc, but instead I got a pissed off sheriff telling me to shut the fuck up and handcuffed me. So I'm now in the drunk tank after a false public intoxication charge handcuffed and told to be quiet. He comes back a half hour later, uncuffs me, and moves me to a cell with a fucking bed, which was nice because I felt like it was late. It was, I was released after midnight. I entered jail with $6, and left with $1. Not only did I get falsely accused of public intoxication without real scientific proof, but they took $5 from me. Not much, but what the flying fuck?
They are required by law to perform a breathalyzer test, so if it happens again you might want to be sure they do that. Or you know, sue them.

Son of a fucking bitch I should have fought it instead of taking the public defenders deal.
My fucking public defender made this deal that if I agree I was guilty they'd turn it into disturbing the peace with loud music, which is a misdemeanor where public intoxication is a felony. In her words, "legal fiction". So here I am paying $25 a month to stay out of jail. Great.
People always defend cops with the usual "they aren't all bad" argument, when there really shouldn't be any at all.

Without a breathalyzer they are making an assumption. They require proof that you are in deed intoxicated. A sobriety test doesn't prove that in the slightest and in most cases is only done for the cops to have fun with the obvious drunks.
That veteran is an awesome person.

I think the cop should be under guard in a prison for the next 20 years

I should probably explain better. Public intoxication wasn't the only thing, I had a bowl of cannabis on me. What happened with me is I was sleeping in school, which was normal for me. The teacher flipped out because she apparently tried to wake me, so she got the principal to wake me, which he did. I woke up but had a dead leg and was groggy as fuck, so I was stumbling to the teachers lounge. When I arrived, there was a SBC Sheriff waiting to give me a field sobriety test. All he did was wave a pen in front of my eyes, said and I quote "He's fucked up" and started going through my things, finding the miniscule amount of cannabis I had. I admit I smoke a little weed, woo what a fuckin' crime. I like cannabis because I don't like pharmaceuticals and I don't feel the effects from them. I started smoking after I got dentistry work done after which I was prescribed Vicodin which I didn't not feel, and since then I was hooked by both the pain revealing and recreational attributes of Cannabis.
I'm lucky I got out of it but I still think I got royally fucked by the police.

Most of the time when shit like that happens it's because there was a call on the radio they were going to answer, but someone else closer picked it up after they got through the light. Happens all the time.
why can't there ever be videos of good cops?
This was in the videos section today.
Although it's more a video of cops being bad at their jobs, no one gets punched in the face:v:

Because an employee doing what is expected of them is not news. You don't see news stories about accountants placing decimals correctly or plumbers fixing pipe. Because nobody cares.
Cops like you make me sick

The bad police work news is getting kinda old...

Maybe that might be an indication of it happening a little too often?
Maybe that might be an indication of it happening a little too often?
yeah i think it's fair to say that when you're no longer interested in reading the numerous reports of police abuses, there's something wrong with your police force

YOU SON OF A BITCH
I came here to post that image
When are police going to learn that you can no longer get away with this shit.
Seriously, we live in an age where almost everyone has a smart phone or some sort of video recorder. Even if you've rounded up everyone's phones by the time you get to the last person, someone's already posted it on Youtube.
The police officer selection system should be far better than it currently is
Maybe that might be an indication of it happening a little too often?
I don't think the number of incidents has risen. The media just know that these are easy articles that cause a fuzz, which is all they need. Pure sensation reporting.
Note that I don't say that police violence is a lie, I'm just saying that it's always been like that (or worse)
