Yea fame is its own trial, 1D are a laughing stock to a lot of people cos young girls like them and they get given lots and lots of shit-- imagine being constantly berated by millions of people every day, having the media scrutinising everything you do (and being a popstar, even going to the grocery store is news to judge your character on) etc.. Not to mention his race and religion were constantly in the foreground as well-- he gets a LOT of shit for being a Muslim and not hiding it (see ISIS joke on the last page..) and for being Pakistani. He says he wants to be a "normal 22 year old" and yeah as people have said the dude's a millionaire so it's not exactly a normal life, but he says in the same sentence he wants to be out of the spotlight. That'll be the main thing. I imagine he's tired of all the shit he gets. He's probably just done with it and wants to keep himself to himself and not deal with the stress of being a popstar. Totally understandable-- being in the public eye 24/7 must be hard.

He's 22, he's hella young with lots of money, choices, and opportunities. Cutting ties more or less to make time for himself sounds awesome. As long as he continues on a positive path, this is nothing but a good thing. There have been artists who have faded out of the spotlight into a good personal life, and at this age there's no reason he can't.

I'm 19, go to paramedic school, and work 7 am to 7 pm friday, saturday, sunday, and monday in an ER. I still find time to relax.

I still feel like this isn't going to wash over for another 2-3 weeks, especially when the media is going to exploit the fuck out of this until it's literally old news.

But aside from that, good on him for making a smart move. Young, great hair, and a giant mountain of money to relax on. I'm actually kind of jealous in a way since he gets to sit on his ass for (possibly) the rest of his life and nobody cannot say he didn't do anything to earn his fortune.
