gunning for kanye's "most egotistical twitter feed" prize i see.
Who gives a damn? Really. Deadmau5 is overreacting or being an attention-whore, and Madonna's your typical drug-loving rock star. Who gives a shit what she says? If kids are dumb enough to do drugs irresponsibly because a celebrity likes to do them, then it's something we call Natural Selection.
Because not knowing better at a young age merits death?
So I don't know how you all feel about Deadmau5, but to be honest I find him to be an amazing role model and possibly a genius. You don't have to be a fan of his music to recognize that he is a good human being.
*vomits*
Because not knowing better at a young age merits death?
Then blame the parents. [editline]26th March 2012[/editline] By the time most young kids have access to drugs, schools and their parents have already educated them as to the risks. If they think they know better and get hurt, well, tough shit.
That's not very nice of him to ostracize his drug user fan base.
Props to him for calling out Madonna like that.
Because not knowing better at a young age merits death?
MDMA use has lead to death in many raves and concerts. Not from the drug it's self, but from dehydration and exhaustion.
Props to him for calling out Madonna like that.
yeah props to a grown man for shitting his pants over a stupid joke
ecstacy is all under the counter ingredients
Given the fact that Madonna probably doesn't actually have to ask around when she wants to get ahold of any kind of drugs, that was kind of a stupid thing to say. That's like someone from the Grateful Dead walking up to the mic and saying "Hey, anyone know where I can score some WEED?!" between songs.
I don't like Deadmau5's music all that much, personally, but I do agree with him. It's a damaging stereotype and it's harmful to see a prominent celebrity seemingly supporting it.
Sorry Deadmau5 but Madonna just summed up your scene in a naive and hilarious comment. Pretending the majority of your listeners aren't drug users would be folly if it wasn't an attempt to keep up your already mainstream acceptance.
Bad Reading x1 (list) It says right in the article that he knows people use drugs but he doesn't condone it.
He does condone insulting and picking fights with people who do condone it, though. And I'll admit stereotypes can be hurtful, but raver stereotypes are that much worth debasing? really? heaven forbid
We can all agree that taking illegal drugs or abusing a legal drug when you're not sick is bad. Drugs are meant to treat ailments, not for recreational purposes or pleasure.
Drugs are meant to treat ailments, not for recreational purposes or pleasure.
why not? if you wanna light up and enjoy yourself, or take some ecstasy more power to you. it's the harmful drugs that should be kept away from.
So I don't know how you all feel about Deadmau5, but to be honest I find him to be an amazing role model and possibly a genius. I know it's been said before and I'll probably be rated dumb like everybody else but... Who cares. Seriously nothing negative would have come out of her statement (any people stupid enough to start doing drugs just because of what she said were going to be easily pressured into drugs anyways), and the thread seems to have turned into a "Deadmau5 is right on everything I agree!!!!" bandwagon [editline]26th March 2012[/editline] There really was no reason to even make a comment on what she said.
yeah i love a guy that gets butthurt that someone on his label gets more popular than him and feels the need to wear his phone number to a public event
Butthurt? Lolwut? The two of them are friendly to each other in real life.
Bad Reading x1 (list) It says right in the article that he knows people use drugs but he doesn't condone it.
He's getting all riled up about someone stating a fact that he's aware of, hilariously pathetic.
We can all agree that taking illegal drugs or abusing a legal drug when you're not sick is bad. Drugs are meant to treat ailments, not for recreational purposes or pleasure.
but it's ok for people to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes for recreational purposes :downs:
but it's ok for people to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes for recreational purposes :downs:
Not stated in his post. But it was still stupidly ignorant.
Although I'm not really against the use of that drug, I must say she's an idiot for saying that. Kind of neat what Deadmau5 had to say about that but he did act a little overboard. If it weren't someone famous he'd just be some raging idiot.
I'm sorry but if you go to a Reggae fest and say "Where the weed at?" and then some straight edge Reggae artist takes offense and decides to bad-mouth you the only proper response is to laugh in their stupid fucking face.
Not stated in his post. But it was still stupidly ignorant.
He takes the time to specify that taking illegal drugs is bad. Meaning he probably had alcohol and tobacco in mind and didn't want to include them with the bunch.
I'm sorry but if you go to a Reggae fest and say "Where the weed at?" and then some straight edge Reggae artist takes offense and decides to bad-mouth you the only proper response is to laugh in their stupid fucking face.
This is almost the worst logic imaginable. Everywhere where you have a large group of people, there's a chance someone's doing something illegal. I'm sure people who enjoy Reggae enjoy it when people like you stereotype them as potheads. Yes, the Reggae genre does have a lot to do with ganja influences, but that doesn't mean everyone who enjoys reggae is going to toke up. So, laughing in the face of someone who doesn't fit into a stereotype of a group they're part of is fucking stupid.
a more important issue is this: what kind of black magic can make Madonna look like she's 30 when she's actually 53.
If you honestly think anyone thought she was going to be recruiting people into drug use, you need to sober up and reread the article.
This. So hard. This is one of those threads where the subforum's name really comes alive because people can't be bothered to read an article, and then you have stupid people on all sides saying stupid shit.
We can all agree that taking illegal drugs or abusing a legal drug when you're not sick is bad. Drugs are meant to treat ailments, not for recreational purposes or pleasure.
Ill be sure to use Jack's for sanitizing wounds from now on then. And no we cant all agree.
