Shame MDMA is pretty much harmless and that its the adulterants caused by prohibition that cause the dangers. Only got banned mainly because Red Bull launched a pro-bono advertising campaign after Lia Betts death because they saw it as competition to their emerging stimulant beverage as a dancers drug of choice. Lia Betts didn't even die from MDMA, she died from water intoxication and, as far as I know, that was because the government advice on MDMA at the time was to drink lots of water if you suspect that you had consumed it and she took it a bit too far.

It's a dumb stereotype that Madonna's comment doesn't help dissuade. Not to imply there's anything particularly wrong with responsible drug use legality aside, it's just not an association that should be welcomed nor applied to a diverse group such as this.
