How the hell did this go from Deadmau5 calling out Madonna for being a old biddy trying to be "cool" to everyone straight out bashing him for going on 4chan.
How the hell did this go from Deadmau5 calling out Madonna for being a old biddy trying to be "cool" to everyone straight out bashing him for going on 4chan.
because someone who goes on 4chan and has tentacle rape tattoos and video game tattoos shouldn't be calling out anyone when it concerns being 'cool'?
Because someone going on a bad website totally relates to an out of touch old woman that supports using drugs to rave
because someone who goes on 4chan and has tentacle rape tattoos and video game tattoos shouldn't be calling out anyone when it concerns being 'cool'?
So you're using stereotypes...to judge someone.
So you're using stereotypes...to judge someone.
you're all stereotyping madonna saying she can't be cool because she's old!
How the hell did this go from Deadmau5 calling out Madonna for being a old biddy trying to be "cool" to everyone straight out bashing him for going on 4chan.
madonna's done more for dance music than deadmau5 so that's not a good route to go down in
you're all stereotyping madonna saying she can't be cool because she's old!
Actually, I'm calling her out for trying to stay relevant by just wantonly dropping drug references.
Actually, I'm calling her out for trying to stay relevant by just wantonly dropping drug references.
i've got a feeling that madonna has been doing drugs long before you were born, how is her mentioning drugs an attempt to stay relevant? but again, what does it even matter? the crowd cheered when she said it so maybe she just knew her audience and how to get them hyped up?
you're all stereotyping madonna saying she can't be cool because she's old!
And you're completely missing the point.
And you're completely missing the point.
i'm getting confused about what the point even is, is he mad that madonna is trying to act cool, that madonna is endorsing drug use, that somehow madonna is reinforcing the stereotype that all electronic music fans are drug users or what?
i'm getting confused about what the point even is, is he mad that madonna is trying to act cool, that madonna is endorsing drug use, that somehow madonna is reinforcing the stereotype that all electronic music fans are drug users or what?
All three I think, I agree he overreacted about the subject but it sounds like it's something he's passionate about.
The amount of people bashing him because they don't like his music is ridiculous. Grow the fuck up. [editline]28th March 2012[/editline]
i'm getting confused about what the point even is, is he mad that madonna is trying to act cool, that madonna is endorsing drug use, that somehow madonna is reinforcing the stereotype that all electronic music fans are drug users or what?
He's mad about her promoting illegal drugs. You don't fucking do that if you're someone like Madonna, she should know better.
The amount of people bashing him because they don't like his music is ridiculous. Grow the fuck up. [editline]28th March 2012[/editline] He's mad about her promoting illegal drugs. You don't fucking do that if you're someone like Madonna, she should know better.
you realize this is madonna right? she's not exactly a saint....
Oh right, so just because she's not a saint shes allowed to glorify illegal drugs?
she's not a christian rocker, if you're looking for PG13 musicians maybe you should be listening to creed? of course she's allowed to glorify drugs, she's allowed to glorify whatever she wants. she's probably a fan of the drug just like i'm assuming the cheering crowd was. man you must not listen to rock and roll, you'd be going berserk.
madonna's done more for dance music than deadmau5 so that's not a good route to go down in
Who gives a flying fuck about what Madonna has done for music ? Are we supposed to judge people's opinions based on their talent or something ? Stop being such a little biased arrogant shit, because you don't like his music doesn't mean he doesn't have a right to give his opinion and it doesn't mean his opinion doesn't matter either. Look at this guy :
I think his music is horrible but I at least agree with him on this.
You see ? HE is doing it right. And before you start arguing that you can't have your opinion because people bash you for having a "different one", I'll just go ahead and say you didn't make a single valid argument all the way through this thread. What's your answer to most things ? Basically "I don't like his music so his point will never be valid" or shitty zingers you either think makes you sound cool or that you really spit out mindlessly in which case you really should stop because it makes you lose any sort of credibility very quickly. Every time I saw you post on a thread of some sort, you were always acting like some annoying guy that takes absolutely any subject people are talking seriously about or generally agree on, and start bashing it like mad without any proper arguments just to sound hip and to look like he thinks on his own, while it just sounds retarded. Either this or you're doing the White Knight, which is as annoying as fuck when it's not done properly (aka once again with arguments, not buckets of insults and zingers). It's really not hard to keep your musical tastes away for a minute and look at the DeadMau5 makes here, and it's not hard to write a proper argument against it either, so you've got no reason to be such an annoying zingy hipster douche all the time.
But why is she allowed to do this? Some sort of unwritten rule? Because she's made millions by herself? Yeah, those aren't good enough reasons. [editline]28th March 2012[/editline] @laczor
But why is she allowed to do this? Some sort of unwritten rule? Because she's made millions by herself? Yeah, those aren't good enough reasons. [editline]28th March 2012[/editline] @laczor
what?? she's allowed to do it because of freedom of speech??? just like he's allowed to say what he wants about it, just like i'm allowed to say that i think he's a moron for crying about drugs, just like you're allowed to say that you think I'M a moron for thinking that.
Who gives a flying fuck about what Madonna has done for music ?
that's really the only thing that matters.
You see ? HE is doing it right.
because HE is agreeing with you.

[editline]28th March 2012[/editline]
that's really the only thing that matters. because HE is agreeing with you.
Err, no, he's not letting his dislike of Deadmau5's music affect his opinion on this article, which has nothing to do with Deadmau5's music. You just came in and started bashing his music.

I think it was a pretty dumb thing of Madonna to say but I think Joel's reaction was pretty dumb too
You just came in and started bashing his music.
no i started bashing his ego then i started criticizing his music because that sets a bad example too. ultimately i can't be criticized for leading the conversation to his music because that's far more interesting and fruitful of a discussion. if that means i'm an "annoying zingy hipster douche" then fine i'm not particularly bothered. ultimately deadmau5's music is the reason why he's even known and the reason why this is an era of topic. i think his music is far more harmful than Madonna's pandering to the druggy audience. plus i hate Madonna's music and everything she stands for but i still think Deadmau5 is wrong and an egotistical jerk. so there Ganerumo, now please remove all the junk about me being a bad person or else you're a hypocrite for trying to make this something personal about me rather than mr. mau5
Wooohoooo! Isn't stereotyping fun!
what kind of stereotype involves having a rape tattoo and crying about drug references? I'd love to know for future reference for the record i'm not bashing mr. mau5 because i hate his music (although his music does annoy me), i'm pointing out that he's certainly not a person that people should look up to. he's a god damn creepy nerd with a rape tattoo who associates with shitty online communities, and a giant crybaby to boot. that also doesn't mean i support madonna and her stupid pandering, because i think she needs to just die already. she's a shriveled disgusting woman flogging the life out of what's left of her career.
how is she even promoting drugs? she isn't saying "HEY EVERYONE, I KNOW A GUY BACKSTAGE YOU CAN GET E OFF WOOHOO!" she's just making a reference that the crowd clearly got (they cheered afterall!). it's called hyping the crowd and alot of artists do it. and jeez, whats so bad about people using drugs anyway? it's their choice why do you and this fella have to be so self righteous about it
You clearly didn't get the issue about this and I suggest you read the OP again. The problem is that by doing so, Madonna is reviving the stereotype of ravers being completely stoned all the time and makes it sound like it's accepted and endorsed by artists, while people like DeadMau5 have tried for a while now to remove this stereotye and push people to stay away from drugs. As for why taking drugs is bad, it's simple. It's not a choice for many people but just a bad decision made out of peer pressure for most of the people going at such raves. Plus, taking drugs in such an already unhealthy situation (aka stuck in a giant crowd with very loud music and often seizure inducing light effects) have a lot of chances to backfire, notably by overdosing (because people taking drugs in the middle of a concert or a rave aren't known to be the most moderate about the amount of funny pills they swallow). madonna hasn't "revived" anything it's always been there. and deadmau5 hasn't done anything to push people to stay away from drugs either, saying Madonna's an idiot isn't going to convince anyone that ecstasy is bad.
