Other people in this kind of situation? [editline]4th May 2011[/editline] Do you have numbers on that or is this one of those truthiness things?
I'm pretty sure thievery is a big no-no in Japan, it's not a new thing that it's rare in a time of crisis. As far as I know it's been like this since even before the Kobe firebombings.
if my home was destroyed i would loot no problem if it comes down to moral integrity or me and my family staying fed im goin with the latter
Awful.
Made me remember two articles. One was how some white family was recovering some food from a store. The other was how a black family was looting food a store. Same disaster think it was related to flooding.
I think it's kinda goofy to equivocate people stealing bread with people stealing plasma TVs, that's just me though
Happens after any disaster. Unfortunate but inevitable.
Apparently, almost nothing was looted in Japan after the latest disasters, which were way bigger than this one. Why is it so hard not to loot anything here, then?

Well the Japanese actually have unity and respect for their fellow man.

He was just stealing that Miller Lite to make himself some weapons and armor to defend his home.
Well the Japanese actually have unity and respect for their fellow man.
From what I've heard they have a tendency to hate foreigners though
People looting disaster-stricken areas isn't anything new.
From what I've heard they have a tendency to hate foreigners though
Japan has been xenophobic for centuries.
Oh man. If there is one place I would NOT try and get into a strangers (even destroyed) house to take stuff it would be Alabama. That's just dumb. Like they need the excuse to shoot you. Talked to a rather back country guy a couple weeks ago who's town got hit near me bad by the tornadoes, and he was like "I can't remember the last time I was as excited as when I heard there were looters. I thought PLEASE let someone come try and take my stuff. I will tie him up, take him down to the woods and KILL him." Harsh? For sure. But that's in NC, it certainly isn't going to be any better in Alabama.
